Hi. I have a broken nose from a fight one and a half years ago. Luckily, the cartilage tip etc. is all intact, however the bone itself is not fitting straight and is going to one of the sides, which brings the cartlage etc. with it. It wont fit, they tried 2 times, it still goes to one of the sides. Is it possible to "cut" the bone in half, attach a implant to the top part in order to make it fit with the lower part of my "forehead" where the break is or whatever its called. Can anyone do this?
There are a number of rhinoplasty options, for someone who has a crooked nose secondary to trauma. These options include cutting the nasal bones (osteotomy), onlay grafts of one's own cartilage, and nasal implants to hide the defect. Seek out a board certified plastic surgeon in your area who routinely performs rhinoplasty.
I have a bulbous tip, but I am afraid of having my tip refined because I don't want it to have that "pinched" look. I do want rhinoplasty to remove the hump; should I leave the tip alone?
From your photos, I believe it would be possible to perform a rhinoplasty which addresses the dorsal hump, without altering your nasal tip. I think the result would be asthetically pleasing. Be certain to discuss your desires and concerns with your surgeon prior to your surgery. Best of luck.
I hv been using non-permanent fillers for my nose (tip & bridge) for abt 2 yrs now (4 mths in btwn) My last procedure for fillers was done on 2nd Sept. I want to explore Rhinoplasty instead as I am tired of getting d jabs n wld like a more permanent look. I m planning for d procedure in Mar 2012. Consultations scheduled end Nov. Is d time span good enuf for d effects of my fillers to wear off for d consult in Nov n procedure in Mar? If no, how long should I have to wait before I can proceed?
Dear Kauakea, although injectable fillers can last from approximately 9 to 15 months, it should be safe to proceed with a rhinoplasty six months afer your last filler injection. Be sure to inform your surgeon about the injections ( when you had them and the type and amount of filler used) as this may alter his/her surgical plan. Good luck!
