I Recently Had Implants Removed. I'm Considering a Lift. How Long Should I Wait Before Deciding?
Dear Ana, I agree with my colleagues and wait approximately three to six months before deciding if you need to consider a breast lift. Your post operative swelling should have subsided by this time and you will have a good idea of the long term shape and position of your breasts. Best of luck.
So I’m 19 years old. I’ve had saggy breasts my whole life. I’m really self conscious about them and it makes me feel ugly. The thing is is that I’m really against surgeries. (I’m a holistic health kind of person) I’m tired of feeling ugly and I want them to change but I’m not sure if I want surgery. I guess I’m just looking to have some advice. What do you think?
My first advice to you would be to remind you that you breasts are perfectly normal and many women your age have similarly shaped breasts. There should be no rush in deciding to have breast lift surgery, so take your time and get consultations with at least two board certified plastic surgeons before proceeding with the breast lift. Make certain you write down all of your questions and concerns prior to going to your consultation. Ask to see pre and post op photos of patients who have had a breast lift and how your surgeon would handle any potential problems or complications. In the final analysis, only you can determine if a breast lift is in your best interest. Best of luck.
I am scheduled for a breast lift with silicone implants 350 under the muscle. I am 53. I am suddenly very nervous as I have read reports of the pain and sproblems associated with this surgery. Am I getting worked up for nothing? Thank-you so much.
Anxiety before breast lift surgery is quite normal. To help you get through this period, make certain you have had all your major questions and concerns answered. I recommend writing all of your questions down and prioritizing them so you can have your surgeon or his/her assistant answer them in an organized fashion. Check with your surgeon for recommendations for dosages of pain medicines along with alternatives to treating pain. You can also ask your surgeon for a pre operative sedative, such as Valium, which you may take the night before or the morning of the surgery. this should help you get through you surgery with as little discomfort as possible. Best wishes.
