28 yr old female, with 3 children. I feel like I have a lot of excess skin in fat in my abdominal region. I am interested in a tummy tuck and inner thigh lift, as well as a breast lift. Is it possible to combine all 3 in my situation?
There is some value to having all three procedures done at once. However, the risks of complications such as blood clots in the legs and wound infections go up in proportion to the length of surgery. The operative time can be reduced if you have a team of plastic surgeons working at the same time. Most plastic surgeons use an arbitrary cut off time of 7 to 8 hours as being safe. Talk to your doctor about these specific issues and it may be better to do these procedures in two sessions. Good luck.
How should a Medial thigh lift (inner Thigh) lateral thigh lift anterior thigh lift be done for a person that has lost over 100 pounds. There is a tremendous amount of loose skin especially in the medial thigh area. How evaisive is it,How long does the surgery take. What is the down time, and how should the proceedure be done. Where would the incisions be, ie: down the inner thigh
Many patients after massive weight loss - especially those who carried a lot of weight in their thighs - have a lot of loose skin primarily on the front of their thighs. A thigh lift can address a lot of this excess skin but as with most body contouring procedures there are significant scars. For a full thighplasty the scar runs along the top of the thigh over to the inner thigh and then down all the way to the knees . The scar s are extensive and the improvement in contour should be weighed against the permanent scars to make sure that the scars are worth it. Thighplasty surgery is also associated with significant risks including infection and hematoma ( blood collections) which can delay healing and return to work etc.
i had a liopscution in May and planning to do thigh lift as i have saggin in the inner thigh and little sagging from outer thigh. i heard is vertical scar is bad as it's get wide and it's visiable as the horizontal scar which will be in the bikini area so it's not visiable and usually its good scar. so what would you recommend ? and also am planning to do tatto on the scar. so how long i need to wait to get the tatto on the scar ?
There are two types of scars used for a thigh lift. A horizontal scar placed in the groin crease is best for patients who have significant vertical laxity(loose skin which can easily be pulled upward). A vertical incision along the inner aspect of the thigh from groin to knee is best used in you have significant horizontal skin laxity or looseness. The specific incision needs to be tailored to your specific anatomy.
I would add that the scars can migrate or widen from their original position; something patients should be made aware of before their surgery.
I recommend consulting with a board certified plastic surgeon who is experienced in this type of body contouring procedure.
Best wishes,
Dr. Bruno
