This is the first time I am reaching out. I have yet to see a doctor because I don’t know where to go or who to turn to because this was all done on the black market. I live in NY.
I had silicone injected into my hips and rear about 2 yrs ago. I had a series of injections done at someone’s home who was not a medical professional.
I was stupid and now I am paying the price with all kinds of issues. I have swelling the comes and goes.
What should I do? Please help me.
Silicone on the lips can be safely removed in many cases. I have had success in the longterm management of this problem. Treatment options may vary from one individual to another.
face is swelling someetimes it hruts on one side really want it out please help
Silicone injections are difficult to treat, but there are several options available to patients who suffer from swelling and granulomas associated with silicone injections. Surgical options can also be used to remove silicone. Treatment should be performed by a knowledgeable plastic surgeon. In my plastic surgery practice in Los Angeles, I have had enormous success with the removal of silicone.
What are the differences between the different types of products that Alcom makes for facial fillers?
Silikon 1000 is make for a single medical purpose. It keeps people with complex retinal detachment from going blind. The dense clear liquid is used to fill the eye after the vitreo-retinal surgeon has laid flat a complex retinal detachment. Doctors misappropriate this product for use as a facial filler. It is not FDA approved for this use. While in general the FDA tolerates off-label use of products, this is one product that is considered so harmful when used in an off-label fashion that the FDA has threatened several doctors with prosecution for using this liquid silicone product. It is not meant to be used as a filler and it is absolutely not safe for this purpose. It saves people from going blind but was never meant to be a filler for the face.
