Would a Series of GA Peels Be Recommended for a 57 Year Old?

...who has been using Retin-A (0.1%) for about 14 years now? I don't use it every night, but probably about 3-4x/wk. I also take Triamterene w/Hctz 70/50 mg 1/2tab/1x/daily for fluid retention. I would like to start the 30-35% GA peels at home, but am apprehensive about the negative side effects. I have Silk Peel done at a Medspa and loved it and the results. How do use dermabrasion and GA on a regimen together?

A: Trying new regimens...get professional advice...

I highly recommend you see a plastic surgeon or a dermatologist for guidance first!  This could be more beneficial to you than to trying a new regimen without supervision.  More harm than good could potentially come of this.

Good luck.

Retin-A for Keratosis Pilaris

My doctor recommended Retin-A as a treatment for Keratosis pilaris on my arms, under my chin and cheeks. It has really helped my cheeks and neck (virtually no bumps) but my arms still suffer from the 'lumps'. Do i need to use this indefinitely? If i stop will the condition come back on my face? I used to tan on sunbeds a lot as i felt the sun helped the condition so am now worried about sun damage to my skin - would Retin-A help this also? I use 0.025% gel. Should i be using gel or cream? Thanks

A: KP Pads for exfoliation of keratosis pilaris.

Keratosis pilaris is a benign skin condition characterized by reddish bumps on the skin of the arms or thighs.  I recommend a combination therapy with an exfoliant and ammonium lactate.  KP Pads are excellent for the care of keratosis pilaris.

How Soon Can I Use Retin-A on my Nose After Having Open Rhinoplasty and Nasal Tip Plasty?

How Soon Can I Use Retin-A on my Nose After Having Open Rhinoplasty and Nasal Tip Plasty?

A: timing

Unless you have a nasal skin issue, I think you can go ahead one week after your rhinoplasty. However you may want to stay away from the open rhinoplasty incision
