I chose Dr. Karamanoukian because of a friend of mine had a mom that went to Dr. Karamanoukian. She was so excited about the results and about Dr. Karamanoukian. I am so happy with my results and how I feel now. I have had three surgeries with him and we are all so pleased. Dr. Raffy Karamanoukian is absolutely phenomenal! He is a skilled surgeon and a wonderful man. He works with the utmost tenderness, compassion and care. This, added to the fact that he demonstrates expertise and precision in his work, provides me great comfort and relief in knowing that I need never go elsewhere! Dr. K literally made possible the impossible for me by treating a multitude of scars on my legs and arm that I have had the majority of my life. After consulting several doctors over the years and being told nothing could be done, I largely gave up trying and resolved to continue to wear pants and long sleeves year-round for the foreseeable future. To my utter amazement and profound gratitude, Dr. K changed all of that! To begin with, he gave me hope. For the months (soon to be years) since, he has endeavored to shrink and heal the scars, employing both his vast knowledge and cutting edge technology. Moreover, he has done all of this in a way that is affordable for me - which would have been completely impossible, if not for his generous heart. I cannot possibly speak highly enough of Dr. K. I did my research on the internet and he came up as one of the best. I am very grateful for Dr Raffy Karamanoukian. I had this issue since I was a little girl and I was so relieved when Dr Karamanoukian was able to help me. I am beyond satisfied! I am glad I finally did this. Dr was so caring and I was able to trust him instantly. I will tell friends and family about him just because I know he will take care of them just like he did for me.

Dr. Raffy Karamanoukian and his staff are amazing!!!! I just recently moved to LA and I was in need of an “emergency” surgery. Since I was new to the area, I was not familiar with any recommended plastic surgeons except for Dr. Karamanoukian who my close friend recommended. She told me he was the best of the best and let me tell you she wasn’t kidding!!! As soon as I walked into Kare Plastic Surgery & Skin Health Clinic, the receptionist had a warm and friendly smile to help ease my nerves. As soon as Dr. Karamanoukian and his PA, Kelly, came out to greet me, I just could feel that I was in good hands. They both were extremely friendly and unconditionally caring. I almost felt like we had all been old friends. Their sense of humor was empathizing and their knowledge of and experience of the surgery I needed was so obvious that it actually downplayed the anxiety I had been feeling previous to entering their office. Of course, the most critical qualities for any doctor to get a review in my book are the results and I seriously could not be happier! Let’s just say that Dr. Raffy allowed my “emergency” surgery to be nothing more than a quick fix as opposed to something that could have physically affected me for a lifetime!

I really can't think of anything negative about my experience, other than the good doctor didn't comp it out of the kindness of his heart. :-) Just kidding, I'm sure he does plenty of charity cases, most doctors do. Dr. Raffy is the best doctor of his kind in this town, bar none. I wouldn't use any other for this kind of delicate work. He's very discrete, kind, caring, efficient and really, really good at what he does. His attention to detail is right there, noticing everything, doing a little more than what you expect. He has the nicest Physician’s Assistant that I have ever met, and my girlfriend is a doctor, so I’ve known a few. She is all business in the operating room, anticipating the doctor’s moves, ready with his instruments before he needs them, like a well-rehearsed orchestra. His facility, from the front entrance to the sterile operating rooms, is so clean you could literally eat off the floor. The price he quotes you is the total price including everything– there are no hidden charges. The follow-up visits are included, no matter how many times you need to go back (at least in my case they were.) My point is Dr. Raffy is a no-bullshit straight talking kind of guy. My only quibble is he has a funny name… Don’t joke with him about it either; that’s his heritage and he went to Grant High School (I asked) and he just might kick your ass if you do. ☺ Bottom line: I found him online just like you and had my girlfriend check him out. She said he graduated at the top of his class from UCLA Medical School and that’s about the hardest one to get into around here. He hasn’t had any run-ins with the medical establishment… My limited experience is that I found Dr. R to be a great guy, easy going even though he’s had 25 years of education he's not at all pompous or arrogant like most surgeons I’ve met. By the way, I had an ugly cyst removed and a growth in my nether regions… If you want the best in plastic, you go to Dr. Raffy, it’s really that simple.

I chose this provider through a google search. My rating is based on my experience & immediate results. As a healthcare professional, I strive to provide quality care at reasonable prices. I look for the same in a physician. Dr Raffy Karamanoukian far surpassed my expectations. He is compassionate, informative, efficient, professional, and very results oriented. I wish I had come to him first before my dermatologist. Office staff & his PA (Kelly) are excellent too!

Scar Removal

I made my consultation appointment with Dr. Raffy on Thursday and he understood the urgency of having my keliod removed. He fit me in for the following Saturday and I was able to schedule a check up the following week. He and his staff were gracious throughout the process. He has promised to continue to work with me to make sure I never see a keloid in the area again. If you are looking to have a scar removed I wouldn't suggest any other doctor.

I've had two experiences with Dr. K removing unwanted skin growths (an epidermal cyst and a wart) and both times his work has been amazing... little to no evidence of the procedure/minimal scarring. I couldn't offer a stronger recommendation for his practice... his work speaks for itself!

Raffy is not only professional and knowledgeable but also very "human". He is kind and cares about his patients - he is down to earth and never makes you feel uncomfortable - and needless to say he is very good at what he does. Before Raffy, I had been to other "famous" doctors for other procedures many years ago, and I always ended up so disappointed. It's either they were always chronically late (no respect for a client's schedule) or rude or you would never even see them as they were "too important" to see a regular patient and some assistant would see you and treat you instead. I always wondered if they even existed or it was just a name! Ever since I met Raffy, I will never go anywhere else but him. I could go on and on and write pages on how much I like the quality of his work and his manners and how happy I am to have finally found a great doctor like him. But you have to try and see for himself. You will not be disappointed.

I met Dr. Karamanoukian at a skincare conference (I am an esthetician) and his presentation on skin pigmentation was one of the most thorough I ever attended. This is why I sought out the services of Dr. Karamanoukian. Dr. Karamanoukian is a kind and caring doctor, and he knows the science behind the solutions he offers his patients. He explained to me the possible reasons for my hyperpigmentation and offered a simple skin care regimen to address it. Living with pigmentation is taxing on one's self-esteem and Dr. K gave me hope that things would get better...and they are!

I've been a patient of Dr. Karamanoukian since I moved to Los Angeles 4 years ago. He is extremely knowledgeable and talented in all aspects of skin health. I've had several skin concerns that he has addressed for me including mole removals, rosacea, vascular lesions, scar repair, fixing other dr's mistakes, you name it. (*Refer to my review of the Pulsed-Dye Laser treatment for rosacea and vascular lesions if that is a concern for you). He is very patient and takes the time to explain procedures and answer questions (and I ask a lot of questions), which is very refreshing. I always know that I can count on him to take care of my skin concerns and help me keep a youthful appearance. He is not only an amazing doctor but also a wonderful person. Any patient of Dr. K. is in good hands. I highly recommend him. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars for Wait Times is that the office does get quite busy; however, that is due to the excellent care that everyone gets who comes through the door. Also, the office staff does let you know if the appointments may be running behind so you can plan accordingly. Visiting Kare is always a very pleasant experience.
