Will a Deep Laser Peel Make Botox and Juvederm Less Effective? I just had Botox (crows feet and forehead), and Juvederm (parenthesis). Now I'm looking at a laser peel that is supposed to go down 3 layers. Will this breakdown the effectiveness of the Botox and Juvederm?

A: Laser Resurfacing before or after injections?

Generally speaking, any Botox and/or dermal filler (Restylane, Juvederm, Perlane) will be injected deeper than the deepest laser resurfacing treatment. With that said, we would still recommend spacing out any injection procedures at least a week before and preferably a week after the laser resurfacing.

In the case of the most ablative (deepest) laser resurfacing, the CO2 laser, you would probably need to wait until several weeks after the procedure to have any injection procedures to ensure that you have had time to properly heal.

After Three Laser Facials, Still See Fine Lines Around my Mouth I have had a problem with some fine lines on my lower face, I have had a serious of three laser facials one month apart. My last was in November. The dematologist said it would take about 12 months to see the final results, however, that is a long time to be stuck with lines that I don't like. What else can I do? I am only 33. Yes I use strong sunscreen everyday.

A: Lip line treatments

Lip lines "smoker's lines" can be reduced with laser resurfacing, or with augmentation of lip volume.

Depending on the type of "laser facial" you received, you may be at the limit of what can safely be done with resurfacing techniques without causing whiteness or an abnormal shiny appearance due to dermal architecture destruction.

Lip augmentation with temporary hyaluronic acid filler or more permanently with fat injection or LiveFill (nontraumatized fascial fat grafts) are an option as well.
