I'm pretty hairy, and I have olive skin - light for a mixed race person. The treatments I had 7 years ago with the Lightsheer machine were super effective! But "permanent" hair removal is is not truly permanent, so I needed some touchups.
I changed jobs so the med spa I went to before was no longer within driving distance, so I chose Elude Med Spa. I love them - they really have the... more
Prior to coming to Dr. Umar’s office, my sister and I were interested in finding a hair removal doctor who could perform laser hair removal treatment. We found a doctor in Beverly Hills who came highly recommended, however, to our disappointment the laser machine that was used by the BH office did not specialize in people of color, therefore causing us to experience an unusual case of hyper... more
The experience was great and so was Rosin; awesome staff; couldn't be happier; very accommodating; great bed-side manners; clean facilities; knowledgeable staff; highly recommend it; I fly down from SF to get this proceedure done every 6-8 weeks and it's worth every single penny spent on air fair and the proceedure itself - Thank you! more
I wanted to get Laser Hair removal to remove my underarm hair as I was troubled with shaving consistently. I like playing sports and basketball requires sleeveless jerseys, I always had to shave so I was clean before games.
I loved the results, I don't have to be so conscious of my underarms anymore and eliminated the hassle. I would recommend this procedure to anyone who hates shaving and... more
I got an amazing deal for ten sessions of full bikini, full legs, and underarm that I couldn't pass up. I had originally come in for a skin rejuvenation (which is awesome. My skin looked smoother and my pores were noticeably smaller) to Dr Laser. Everyone is extremely friendly and made the process a breeze. It was never awkward and it's almost like visiting a friend during the visits.
I saw dr. Pearl Grimes in Los Angeles after getting post inflammatory hypopigmentation after laser hair removal on my lower legs. I found her 4 months after my hair removal situation. She is near The La Brea tar pits. She prescribed narrow band UVB. Treatment. I had 17 treatments total. My pigmentation came back comepletly.
I had too many white spots to count.

It has been almost 1 year since my first visit to RejuvaYou Medical Spas in South Pasadena and I think it is about time I wrote an update. I really love going back to this spa as I always feel welcome and greeted very professionally with courteous staff. It's the kind of place anyone can feel comfortable going to.

Dr. Karamanoukian is an amazing and kind doctor. I started getting laser hair removal but ended up getting several other treatments with him. He has always given me the best deals, and he is genuinely concerned with his patients. The staff is excellent and friendly as well. The laser hair treatment has been working great so far.. I highly recommend Dr. Karamanoukian!!! more
So I am probably one of the younger ones on here who has gotten this treatment. I'm only 16, but I have had a hair problem ever since I hit puberty, which was when I turned 11. I live in California, where it is hot most of the time, so shorts and skirts are the perfect things to wear year round. Unfortunately, I have a lot of body hair that prevents me from having the confidence to wear cute... more
Unwanted hair in certain places. I just finished my sixth laser appointment and I can tell you that they have worked well (: I know that it is a sensitive area to get laser hair removal, but they use this special machine that helps reduce the pain. So you'll hardly feel a thing! They also provide numbing cream for some areas. more
Pros: NEVER have to shave again!
Cons: fairly costly, a little bit of pain (like someone flicking their finger at you/on you)
I was tired of shaving my armpits, so I had hair removed when my ob/gyn's office provided that service as a side business. I was charged per treatment, and I don't recall exactly how much each one was or how many times I went, as this was about 15 years... more
I got a groupon for a place in southern california to get the following done (there were many options but I only grow dark hair in these places)"
I just had the first treatment last Sunday (1/23/10) so now I am waiting for the hair to hopefully fall out. I am starting this post so that I can update.

Yes, you read it right, I've spent at least $10,000 on laser hair removal and it has not worked at all!
The first round of treatments through UCLA Medical Center were costly and worthless. I spent $500 per series of treatments, and I had a LOT of treatments. I was trying to get a more "acceptable" bikini area if you know what I mean. It was very... more
I went to a Spa in a mall and I did the laser hair removal. It was not worth it! It was 8 treatments for the whole face and the total was 3,000 dollars. After that the hair grew even more and developed bad Acne. I hated it ever since. more
I had 5 sessions. Before i purchased I asked if the areas would be hair free. I had my armpits and brazillian bikini. they never have been and after speaking with some nurses that do the procedure, they said it is not permanent, only a reduction at most more
Laser hair removal is supposed to be permanent, but the truth is that it takes care of 80% of the hair max. The rest of it can be removed by further treatments and maintaining to aviod regrowth. I lost more than 80% of my hair but saw some growths on my bikini area in between the treatments. I went for 7 sessions , monthly and in between those i used to see a very slight stubble of a few... more
