Following a detailed consultation and evaluation for rhinoplasty is it ok to ask the doctor to share with you the surgical plan in detail, with the actual amount of change proposed for each nasal area? For example the following - Reduce projection of tip in profile view by 5mm. Nasolabial angle to stay the same. Reduce tip width in frontal view by 2mm. Reduce width of bridge in frontal view by 2mm. Maintain radix height at same level. Reduce length of nostril opening in profile view by 2mm.

A: Surgeon and Patient Share Surgical Plan

You should very carefully review the surgical plan with your surgeon. However, the exact measurements you're asking for are not realistic. Surgeons are dealing with living tissue, not building a cabinet. Intra-operative findings such the contour and strength of the cartilage may change the figures you're requesting. However, the size and relationships of the parts of the nose are important. At some point you have to give up control and trust your surgeon.

Will The Final Result of Surgery End Up Like The Nose Appearance Just After Cast Removal?

Is it true that after cast removal your pretty much looking at the end result? After the cast comes off your nose will swell for months, and should technically reduce down to the same size as when you first saw your nose after cast removal?

Although the cast will restrict swelling, some swelling is still present when it is removed. Swelling will typically increase immediately after removal. Your appearance will improve dramatically during the following 3 weeks, but it will take about a year to see the final result.
