When it comes to my smile, there are only two things that bother me: The large gap in my bottom teeth, and my lateral incisor that appears to be slightly behind my two front teeth (It is the same color as my other teeth but appears grey in photos and bad lighting. Is bonding an option for either of these two issues? I'm happy with my smile (with those exceptions) so I'd prefer not to undergo braces.
I understand you would like to close the lower gap with bonding. Bonding may make your teeth too large, not giving you a look that you would like. Bonding can be done to bring the lateral incisor forward. Remember that bonding is not a permanent solution to your problem and often chips and has to be redone. You can also accomplish all of this with veneers and they are permanent but their will be reduction of enamel to the teeth. Once you have veneers, always veneers!
My suggestion to you is, even though you do not want braces, you can accomplish and fix your problem permanently with clear braces called invisalign. These are clear removable aligners that will close the gaps, align your teeth and after you are finished , you can use the trays for whitening all of your teeth.
My teeth are a little short and a little jagged and overcrowded. Can't I just have bonding done on all of them to make them a little longer and make them appear less jagged? Is it possible that none of the teeth would have to be ground down at all? It just seems like that would be much less invasive and expensive that getting porcelain veneers on all of them. Is it possible it could affect my bite in an unnatural way?
It may not be the ideal way to fix your problem because not only are your teeth jagged but your would like to match the length. It is an affordable less invasive way to fix them without filing them down. The bonding may not last as long as a veneer or a crown, but it would be a start for you and then you can decide if you want something more permanent down the line.
I have anxiety and cannot be numbed up. For the most part my bonding is still very much in tact. I would just like it touched up if possible to whiten my front teeth. Is this possible to do without having to drill out the teeth and start over again? Any opinions on whiteners like Supersmile that are supposed to whiten these dental bonds?
Dental bonding is a simple and price effective method for making teeth nice and even and white without the pan and expense of veneers. If your dental bonding is pretty much intact, and you are happy with it, I would suggest that you ask your dentist to redo the bonding and make it look whiter, and smoother and cosmetically appealing . This type of process can be easily be changed up and added to, correcting the shade and the contour of the teeth. If you have anxiety and fear using an anesthetic, I would suggest you have them rebonded. It is fast, inexpensive and no pain is involved! Hope this helps! Good luck!
