I think you have a problem you need to work on and than fix the teeth.  Most people grind their teeth but there is not significant damage. Others clench and grind and cause tremendous damage to their teeth. You did not say how significant the damage was, but I would discuss with your dentist, a splint or a bite guard or something we use in our office called the Best Bite Discluder. It is inexpensive and will let you know right away if your bite is off and that is why you are grinding.  If you suffer from TMJ, pain in face or jaw area , have ringing in the ears, facial pain, it could be because of your bite.  Find a dentist who will make a splint for you or bite guard and see if he can adjust your bite. Most of the time that is why patients grind their teeth.

If the damage is not significant and the dentin is not exposed, you and your dentist can decide what cosmetic work procelain, expensive , or bonding ,much cheaper, work for you. Bonding is not strong and you need help to stop grinding. The cost depends on how many upper teeth are involved...but stop the problem, which is the grinding!  Also get more than one dentist's opinion and shop around for prices.
