filler or blepharoplasty for my tear trough?

My deep tear troughs are starting to really make me self-conscience.  I have been reading the pros and cons of each and am not sure what would be better.  I have barely gotten enough courage to consider a filler but I hear that they are difficult in this area to work properly.  I don't know if I could see myself having a blepharoplasty since its surgery (and I'm worried about not looking like myself once its done).  The fillers seem to be easy but everybody says to find an "experienced" person.  I talked to one board certified plastic surgeon who performs fillers but won't do them in the tear trough area because the results are so inconsistant.  Also, it appears that there are several different kinds of fillers as well.  Based on my photo, what would be recommended?

A: Restylane for the Tear Trough

Thank you for the photos.  You would be a good candidate for filler injection into the area.  I would not recommend surgery for you as it would not address the problem.  You have hollowing in the tear trough area, which a HA filler like restlylane would work very well.

Most board certified plastic surgeons would and do perform this procedure on a regular basis, so I would look around for such.  It is not a very difficult area to inject but you do need to find someone that does have experience with this area, as it can be somewhat tricky.

Good luck.

Restylane for Marionette Lines - Am I Good Candidate?

I Am 66 Year Old Female with Generally Good Skin, Careful of the Sun, no major health problems. I do have moderate skin folds from outer edge of lips down towards my chin on both sides of the mouth, one being more pronounced than the other, which look better when I smile (and I do that alot anyway!). I saw a filler injection on Dr. Oz, had never even considered it. Would Restylane be of any use to me? Is it safe? Are there side effects I should consider? Is there a cheaper way to get it done than a plastic surgeon? How would I find someone in my area?

Restylane, Perlane or Radiesse is my choice of filler.  The marionette lines can generally be address by any of the fillers mentioned.  Just remember you are dealing with your body and face, do not take the CHEAP route.  You will pay extra in the long term whether it is with more money or agony.

Look for a board certified plastic surgeon to do your injection.  You can go to the ASPS website and look up for a plastic surgeon in your area.

Good luck.

Will Restylane Injections Help with the Tired Look?

Hi, I am 38 years old and have under my eyes and a rather visible nasiolabial fold. I was told at a clinic this could best be treated with 2ml restylance subq, as both features are the result of volume loss. Filling the eye area would not be enough to start with, but perhaps be needed after the injection of the subq filler. I would like to ask you if this sounds plausible. Thanks in advance.

A: Filler for Nasolabial Fold

I like perlane or radiesse for prominent nasolabial folds.  The radiesse goes a long way and stays around longer.

Restylane is a better option for the tear trough and the lips.

Hope that helps.
