“Fraxel Laser - Laser MD Cosmetics -...”
Had my first Fraxel Laser procedure yesterday at Laser MD Commetics in Long Beach, Ca. A couple of nurse friends referred me. The physician performing the procedure is quite competent and has been performing laser for many years. His RN assistant Lisa has taught many physicians around the country how to use lasers. The procedure was well tolerated after the numbing cream. Felt like... more
“I Love IPL and Fraxel - Culver City, CA”
My mother and I have been going to Cosmetique for about 3 months now. It's become our weekend ritual. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and the doctor is fantastic. Mom had IPL for melasma (large brown spots) on her cheeks. After only one treatment they are almost completely gone. We've both have had Fraxel to erase a childhood scar and tighten skin. Well let me tell you... more
“Fraxel for Skin Pigmentation and Sun...”
Being 22 I must say I was a bit worried about doing the fraxel, but I am so happy with the results. If you have lighter skin tone with freckles as I do the recovery time does take longer. (my skin stayed pink for longer, six months) but nothing a little makeup can cover. The worst part is having to stay completely out of the sun for six months to a year. It was harder then I imagined it to be.... more
“Lorrie Klein's Office is More...”
I had Fraxel ReStore done by Klein's nurse practitioner in 2009. There were zero side effects, yet learning that a good Fraxel ReStore is supposed to give you puffiness or some swelling, redness, etc. I walked out of the office on all occassions like nothing had happened. Not even slight peeling. I recently found out through another doctor that they must of performed the "light" Fraxel on... more
“Experience Some Brownish Reddish...”
Hello everyone just trying to see if I can get some feed back on my co2 laser treatment... Iv had co2 done two and a half weeks ago I went through where I was bright red to brown than to peeling which I hear it normal but after I was told to start the bleaching cream again after the 7th day noticed it made my face turn red so I was told to minimize the amount. But its been two and a half weeks... more
“Great Bang for the Buck - Seal Beach, CA”
When I go in for fraxel, I go in for a portion of my face. $150 is the cost for treating a cheek from my smile line to my outer cheekbone and my cheekbone down to my jaw. I have had my cheeks treated 3 times each. I've had 150$ worth of my forehead, including between my eyes, once. And a $150 area of my arm, once. The fraxel laser Aesthetic Laser Care (ALC) uses is not Dual, but similar... more
“Meh! Would Have Rather Taken the...”
I had the fraxel laser done to my upper cheeks, and all around my mouth. I see what all the orange peel comments mean now. The tiny dots where the laser frys you are left in my skin. Again I'm looking at my face in a 10x mirror. Nothing crazy bad. It was a thousand dollar gamble. If I had to do over would choose a different procedure. Love the aquifer lotion (goo) suggestions from everyone... more
“In Panic Mode Days After Fraxel Dual...”
Im 45 and had fraxel dual March 1. I had had thermage the week before and was very pleased with that procedure. It hurt, but there really was no healing process. I may have been a little pink and puffy but that was for like a day and i could wear makeup no problem. I am ashamed of myself because on a whim i purchases a package which included both treatments. I went to a top dermo office in oc... more
“Fraxel Restore Dual- Pigmentation...”
I went to a very nice plastic surgeon to see about having my skin tightened. Since I had gone to this doctor before for fillers, I thought nothing of it that the office manager told me by email that I should consider fraxel. When they ran a special months later, I thought I could try it out. This plastic surgeon is the fraxel expert, and answers many questions on this board regarding the laser... more
“Had SmartSkin Fraxel 11 Days Ago -...”
I'm 54 years old and wanted to get rid of the lines around and above my mouth. I've always had peaches and cream skin, but was told to do my entire face so the color would match. I also had my chest and neck done because that was the special the plastic surgeon was running in December. Lidocaine was applied to my face for an hour and I was given something to relax. Let me just say... more
“So Far, So Good! - Beverly Hills, CA”
I wrote a review for another website after my first treatment a month ago. Here it is: This is my first Fraxel treatment and today is my fourth day. So far, so good. The procedure was definitely not painless, so make sure you apply the numbing cream ALL over your face all the way to the hairline and above your lips. My esthetician recommended that I apply another layer 30 minutes... more
“Love my Fraxels! - Laguna Niguel, CA”
My first Fraxel was in March 2009 at the age of 48, and I bought a series of 3 for a discount, and had them nearly 3 months apart. My skin improved each time, not within the first 10 healing days, but defintely after that. After the 3rd, I had beautiful skin. I have had two more since, once each year to update me, on a slightly stronger setting each time, as my skin was obviously able to... more
“Fraxel Re:store - Laguna Niguel, CA”
I am 35 yrs old, with fair skin, freckles and strawberry blond hair (German/Irish background). I decided to get the Fraxel Re:store to help with crows feet and wrinkles around the eyes, and crepey skin/laxity under the eyes. I chose the Fraxel Re:store for the minimal downtime vs the Re:pair (and I thought I would save the stronger Re:pair for when I'm older). I got the "eye... more
“Very Happy with Fraxel Restore - Los...”
My doctor recommended the Fraxel Restore because my skin didn't need anything drastic, just something to help even the tone. Also, I just started getting cystic acne (at my age!) and every time I get a zit, it turns into a scar. So yes, I wanted these new additions to my face to be gone! I was, however, really really concerned about getting Fraxel after reading all of the negative... more
I had theramge the week before so this was a scheduled procedure. The numbing gel worked and best advice, make sure you ask for sun goggles. My face is still warm and swollen, starting to flake and red and blotchy. Luckily my job has flex hours so I can work from home. I'm hoping it gets rid of my sun damage, broken capillaries and blotchy skin tone. I'm very thin skinned with... more
“Innovative - Highly Competent...”
During my initial visit I had Dr. Klein surgically remove a tiny mole on my face. I also inquired about the laser treatment procedures to remove old acne facial scars. Dr. Klein provides the latest in laser technology treatments that are both safe and effective. She has a complete knowledge of the products and services she provides her clients and a customized approach that is designed... more
“I love the fraxel laser - Los...”
I am in my early 40's with an olive complexion and some scarring from acne. Fraxel has reduced (not eliminated) my scarring, it evens out the pigmentation and creates new collagen. I describe it too friends by saying if your skin was like an orange peel, Fraxel would make it more like an apple peel. I find it to be an extremely painful procedure but I have the absolute highest setting on my... more
“Fraxel Re Store - Santa Ana, CA”
I have had the fraxel restore four times for my sun spots. My face still has it with 40% less than the initial. When I returned, the doctor said I have to wait two months for it takes ito affect. So, is the doctor telling the truth or is she conning me? Are the treatment fix the sun spot or melasma disappear? more
“Fraxel Ruined my Skin, Should Be...”
A friend and I made appointment for Fraxel to clear some very minor discoloration of the skin and as pre-treatment for minor fine lines in very early stages. My friend had hyperpigmentation from an old chemical peel in her teens, which had left her with mildly blotchy skin in one area of the cheek. After my first treatment, which was excruciatingly painful, I had good results. The skin... more
“Fraxel Treatment for Acne Scars”
I had fraxel treatment to treat acne scars. I had 2 treatments already and I have seen improvement so far but the scars are still obvious and I would still breakout.I have been hearing good things about the vitalize peel but I'm just wondering if I can go for that after a fraxel treatment? And if so, how soon can I do it after a fraxel? more
“Fraxel Was Really Painful but Good...”
I have had a total of 2 Fraxel treatments. The first time I wasn't prepared for how much it would hurt, and I had to call in sick to work the next day because I looked like a burn victim. The second time I was prepared for redness and the pain so I scheduled the treatment for a Friday. They upped the strength on the second pass and wow was I swollen all weekend! My poor boyfriend had to... more
“Post-Fraxel Restore Healing for Acne...”
I did the treatment to diminish acne scars and improve the texture of my skin. It didn't hurt and I didn't swell, but I seem to be having some issues with the healing process. I had a Fraxel Restore treatment on July 2 of this year. As expected I broke out, but not expected, I remain pink with small points of whitehead acne and small cystic bumps that others on the site have... more
“Dermaplaning After Fraxel Laser -...”
Good so far! Hoping it will only get better in the weeks to come, Painful but not bad. Down time a little longer than the 48 hours but still OK. I had a Fraxel restore treatment on Friday and so far have what seems to be the normal redness/brown skin, white bumps etc. I was thinking of going in this week and having some dermaplaning to help with the exfoliation process. Is... more
“Fraxel Result - Laguna Niguel, CA”
I have had two of four fraxel restore treatments I wanted to reduce some mild acne scarring but mostly wanted to reduce wrinkling and pebbly-type skin on my upper lip. So far I am not seeing a difference of any significance. I had all the typical reactions- red puffiness and the bronzing and peeling afterwards. The acne scars seem slightly better, but not the upper lip wrinkles. more
“Fraxel...Not Sure if It's Worth It”
It has been 1 year since I had 2 (supposed to have 5) treatments of Fraxel. When the skin first peeled off, I was pretty happy with what was underneath. That does change. Even though I lather in sunscreen, and walk around with hat or umbrella. Living in Southern California, there is almost no way to escape some sun exposure, thus I have some new pigmentation problems. Redness, what looks... more
“Fraxel is Not Worth the Pain or Expense”
I had 2 fraxel treatments about 3 weeks apart. The second recovery took over a week. It was extraordinarily painful, even during recovery. The worst was that there was no change in my appearance. The dark spots did not disappear and there was no lessening of wrinkles. Not one person ever noticed a difference. more
My first Fraxel must have been set at a low setting, and I was happy with the results. The second Fraxel must've been set quite a bit higher, was VERY painful and I swelled up immediately causing me much concern. I thought my skin was going to burst! The second Fraxel destroyed the surface texture and muscle tone under my skin, and I look older than when I went in! When I brought pictures back... more
I had Fraxel done 5 days ago and I'm very pleased. I've read quite a few of the reviews on this website and I'm surprised that more people haven't had as positive an experience as I have, so far. My doctor was awesome. She was very honest about 3 different treatment options, detailing the pros and cons of each and didn't try to sway me one way or another. I decided... more
