Swelling from Eyelid Surgery. Do the Eyebrows Go Back Down?

It seems that my eyebrows are higher (from the swelling) from eyelid surgery along with looking puffier (esp around the lateral "outside" part). but my eyebrows were already high to begin with and just wondering , do they go back down to normal as the swelling goes down?

Yes the brows will go back down if all you had done is an upper blepharoplasty.  Once the swelling subsides your brows will return to their original position.

Hope that helps.

Fillers or Blepharoplasty on my Tear Trough?

I am not sure whether fillers or blepharoplasty would solve my problem. I am 29 years-old, i have always had a little puffiness around the eyes (probably due to water retention and allergies) and now i have these terrible tear throughs under my eyes, which make the puffiness look worse. Thank you very much in advance!

A: Blepharoplasty vs Fillers

Either option is viable as outline by others.  Blepharoplasty (transconjunctival approach) is a more permanent approach versus using fillers which are not permanent and usually last about 1 to 1 1/2 years in that area.  You may simply try a filler first to see how things look and later on decide on having surgery.

Good luck.

What Do I Do Now? Chemosis in my Left Eye for 8 Months Now After Blearoplasty

I had blephoplasty 8 mos. ago and still have chemosis in my left eye. My surgeon seems to be oblivious to this and says he would only make it worse by trying to fix it. He obviously took out too much tissue in the lower lid. The bottom of the iris does not touch the lower lid. Will there be negative effects on my vision? What should I do?

A: Ectropian after lower lid blepharoplasty

It sounds like you have developed scleral show and ectropian after your blepharoplasty.  Massage and taping the lid sometimes helps.

I would recommend consulting with a plastic surgeon that specializes in periorbital rejuvenation and lower eyelid reconstruction.  Until then I would say massage and taping for now.

Good luck.
