I have enlarged/scarred pores on my cheeks and on my nose. I also have a few very, very, shallow acne scars. I would love to find an alternative to laser treatments or microdermabrasion (I am prone to broken blood vessels) to help fix some of these issues. Would a series of chemical peels do the trick? Or something else?
Chemical Peels will not stimulate collagen, however, they are beneficial for superficial exfoliation. Lasers are a good option for both scarring and pore size as they are using thermal energy to stimulate collagen production. There is also laser technology that can aid in facial redness. I've had bad under eye bags/lines since I was little but have been told that I'm ineligible for blepharoplasty(I'm 22 PMH anemia/asthma/hay fever/borderline diabetic). Can a chemical peel safely get rid of my under eye wrinkles? Also, are chemical peels safe for people with allergies? My allergies can cause my eyelids to swell up, crust over, and peel. I am also prone to styes(so I can't get fillers). Suffice it to say, my eyes are very sensitive.
Hi Tapecinq. The best option if you are not considering a lower lid blephoraplasty is Restylane or Juvederm injections. Filling the area below the eyes will help you get rid of the tired look and bags you speak about. The link below shows many patients that have had this procedure successfully at our proactice. Good luck.
I am considering have a Melange Peel, not sure about the spelling, is it a deep peel? What is in it?
The Melanage peel is a superficial peel designed to improve the texture and appearance of hyperpigmented skin which involves a medicated masque and an at-home regimen. There is no pain and little-to-no irritation during the application of the mask, and typically, the irritation level on the following days is more like a sunburn. The key ingredients are Hydroquinone and Retinol. It is a highly effective peel.
