I am looking for an above described procedure in early spring 2012. Is there anybody performing such interventions in a 500-600 miles radius. If you'd also provide aprox. cost info would be wonderful hence I have to add up with eventual travel expenses. I'm 34 y.o.f., 5'8" tall, 143 Lbs, delta shape[former pro swimmer] ,chest wall tissue above muscle is anywhere between 1.5-2.2cm. Wishing to go from an A to full B cup. Under the muscle is out of question. Many thanks in advance !
The pectoral fascia provides no additional meaningful coverage for an implant. Having a subglandular implant puts you at risk for superior pole rippling. Rather than shopping for a doctor who will perform the operation you think you want, try getting opinions from experienced breast surgeons who will explain what approach/implant will give you the best possible result.
I heard recently there are adjustable silicone breast implants. Do many doctors offer them and are they much more then the average cost of silicone breast implants?
While the concept of an adjustable implant has a certain appeal, the reality of it often disappoints. Making a device more complicated (remote access port, double lumen) often leads to an increased device failure rate or higher complication rate. I know of no one in my area who uses them. When it comes to breast surgery, keep it simple and straightforward! Hope this helps!
What Are is the Percentage Rate of Getting Capsular Contracture with Silicone Implants
There are several studies on the subject and the incidence appears to be somewhere between 5 and 8%. More importantly, the capsular contracture rate can be very surgeon dependent. Sloppy surgeons will have a higher rate due to blood product around the implant. Get more than one opinion from experienced breast surgeons. Good luck!
