I am in the middle of completeing my sculptra injections (and just had 1 radiasse injection too)I would like to do the obaji blue peel to remove wrinkles around the eyes and mouth and reduce my pore size. However, I would like to know if the blue peel will effect/ruin my results with the sculptra? Should I wait to complete the sculptra injections and if so how long should I wait to do the blue peel?
The answer is no. The blue peel is a medium deep peel with very good results but, does not reach the depth that fillers do.
But I went to my dermatologist last week, and she said I had a mild case of Rosacea.I'm now wondering if the Blue Peel will make the condition worse. My main reason for doing the Blue Peel was to improve my acne scars, but certainly not at the risk of making the rosacea worse. Should I forget about the Peel?
I have been using the Obagi Blue Peel for over 12 years and have never seen it make anyone's rosacea worse. It also won't make your acne scars any better because it doesn't penetrate deep enough. Only deeper levels of resurfacing have a chance of improving your scars. In my practice, we have been seeing very nice degrees of improvement using a fractionated CO2 laser without the risk of pigment change seen with traditional CO2 resurfacing or dermabrasion. Once you have finished getting your face resurfaced look into IPL/Photofacial treatments to improve your rosacea. Hope this helps! Good luck!!!!
I had 2 Obagi blue peels done, the last on 12/28/10. I didn't get the results I hoped for. I am trying to get rid of brown spots from sun damage or hyperpigmentation not sure which and acne scars. Do I need to wait to get the IPL done?
Enough time has passed for you to get a series of IPL treatments but you may still be disappointed with your results. IPL will do very little, if anything, to your acne scars. For that you should consider some form of CO2 resurfacing (fractionated or traditional). If the brown pigment you are trying to get rid of is melasma it may prove resistant to IPL and hydroquinone (bleacher).
