Why Can't I Have Neck or Facelift as a Smoker? I've had both upper and lower eye lid surgery, arm reduction and a tummy tuck. I am a smoker and am 51 years old. I've healed fine in all cases. Why can't I have a neck or facelift?

A: Facelift/smoker

Having any surgery and continuing to smoke is a bad idea. The healing process is compromised due to constricting the blood vessels and blood supply. The healing time will be much longer.

Is It Good Idea to Take the Pre-op Vitamins That Are Advertised As Such Before a Facelift? I know Vitamin E is not supposed to be used pre3-op, along with herbs and anything containing aspirin or the like. Also, what about post-op? Should Arnica and Bromelain be used post operatively? Thank you to anyone who answers.

A: supplements after facelift surgery

i generally recommend supplements two weeks before and after. there are supplements that generally assist in healing and others like arnica and bromelain that are less studied but many patients and doctors feel there is a benefit.. we prefer Vitamedica products

Decrease of Hearing After Facelift? It's Been Almost 2 Months and my Ears Feel Blocked. It's bee almost 2 months and my ears still feel like they are blocked up with something. My hears seems to be muffled. I have flush my ears multiple times with ear flushes without result. Doctor says this is normal.

the initial swelling of the ear canal can occur and cause problems for several weeks

someone should look inside however to make sure there is no dried blood. wax or packing that may have been place during the surgery
