From what i can tell juvederm is maybe better than restylane because it lasts longer. Is this true? Are there other things i should take in to account before choosing juvederm or restylane?
Juvederm and Restylane are hyaluronic acid fillers made by two different companies. They have different fill profiles and neither is better in all cases than the other. I use both in my practice and prefer Restylane in some areas of the face and Juvederm in others. In general, Juvederm seems to last a little longer than Restylane, but gives more fill and so can be too much for delicate areas with thin skin. Also, the products last differently in different patients, there is a lot of individuality in this. Choose a physician who uses several of these products and ask him or her which is recommended for your needs and why.
How long does it take to see results from Juvederm? I just got some in my nasolabial folds and lips, and I can't wait to see how it really is going to look.
Juvederm gives immediate fill results. However, swelling may last up to 48 hours after the injection and bruising and minor lumpiness may take up to 2 weeks to resolve.
I am thinking of having Juverderm fillers. What areas of the face does it treat?
Juvederm, like most of the other hyaluronic acid fillers is FDA approved for the crease between the nose and the corner of the mouth. However, many physicians also use this product in the lips, cheeks, corners of the mouth and along the jaw line. It is a very versatile product in the hands of an experienced doctor. You can get excellent, subtle rejuvenation with this filler.
