Post-Pregnancy Procedures
A carefully planned mommy makeover can restore your self-confidence and youthful silhouette. For mothers looking to regain their youthful silhouette, mommy makeovers are becoming an increasingly popular option. The weight gain and loss of carrying a baby can leave excess skin and fat, while nursing affects the volume, fullness, and position of the breasts. At my San Diego practice, I use specialized body contouring and breast enhancement procedures to return your body to its pre-childbirth shape. Some of the most popular procedures I perform during a customized mommy makeover include breast augmentation, breast reduction, breast lift, tummy tuck, and liposuction. It’s also not unusual for women to add facial rejuvenation treatments to their mommy makeover plan. Breast Surgery
Breast enhancement, which improves the shape and position of your breasts, is one of the most popular types of cosmetic surgery. At my San Diego practice, I offer a number of breast enhancement procedures, including breast augmentation, breast implants, breast fat transfer, and breast implant removal. I’m also one of only five doctors in the world who performs the Bellesoma breast lift. While traditional breast lifts leave unsightly vertical scars running from the areola to the breast crease, the Bellesoma breast lift hides incisions in the breast crease and around the areola, where they will blend in and fade naturally. I also use the Bellesoma Method for breast reduction surgery. In addition to eliminating unsightly vertical scars, this method uses state-of-the-art 3D scanning software that calculates the specific volumes and measurements of the breasts, which then creates a “surgical blueprint” for optimal accuracy and natural-looking results.
Abdominoplasty
When you lose a large amount of weight or give birth, the skin on your abdomen can remain stretched to the point that it isn’t able to bounce back. You may also have separation of the abdominal muscles. Both of these issues can’t be fixed with diet and exercise alone. A tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) removes excess skin and fat while tightening the muscles of the abdominal wall, creating a firmer, more toned abdomen. At my San Diego practice, we offer three different tummy tuck options: a mini tummy tuck, to correct bulging beneath the belly button; a full tummy tuck, to address bulging above and below the navel; and an extended tummy tuck, which also removes excess skin from the flanks or love handles. Most of my patients choose a full tummy tuck, often combined with liposuction. During your consultation, we’ll assess your concerns, skin laxity and align on the best treatment plan to give you a streamlined result.

Dr. Daniel Brown is a board-certified plastic surgeon, serving the greater San Diego area with offices in Del Mar, La Jolla, and Coronado, California. Dr. Brown specializes in breast enhancement, including breast augmentation, breast lifts, breast reduction, and gynecomastia surgery (male breast reduction). He also has expertise in tummy tucks (abdominoplasty), liposuction, Brazilian butt lifts, and full mommy makeovers, as well as facelift surgery.
His practice, Daniel Brown Cosmetic Plastic Surgery, also offers numerous nonsurgical treatments for the face and body, including BodyTite and FaceTite, Cellulaze cellulite treatment, Botox, and Juvéderm dermal fillers.
Currently, Dr. Brown is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Plastic Surgery at UC San Diego Medical Center where he teaches the newest, most innovative plastic surgical techniques.
Dr. Brown received his bachelor’s degree in neuroscience at the University of Pittsburgh. He went on to attend medical school at The Medical College of Pennsylvanian and Hahnemann University School of Medicine (now Drexel College of Medicine) in Philadelphia, where he supported himself by working as an emergency medical technician (EMT).
He completed his training in plastic surgery at UC San Diego Medical Center and his general surgical training at St. Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center in New York City, prior to a prestigious fellowship in microsurgical and craniofacial research at New York University Medical Center’s Institute for Reconstructive Plastic Surgery. His research focused on the effects of stem cell therapy on wound healing, novel techniques to grow facial bones for syndromic children, and the effects of radiation on wound healing and new blood vessel growth.
While living in New York City, Dr. Brown treated multiple trauma victims during the tragedy of the 9/11 terror attacks on the World Trade Center, as well as victims of the Staten Island Ferry crash in October of 2003. He brings a competent, focused, and calming force to critical situations.
When he is not working at his private practice, Dr. Brown strives to stay abreast of the latest plastic surgical innovations and technological advancements. His own findings are frequently published in prestigious medical journals and have been presented on an international level.
He takes pride in giving back to the San Diego community by performing emergency surgeries for trauma victims. He also regularly volunteers with InterFACE, a nonprofit organization that funds and performs cleft lip and palate repairs for children in Mexico.
