Can Artefill over Stimulate Collagen?
It is possible to overcorrect with Artefill. Once the carrier collagen dissipates in several months, the PMMA microspheres become covered with your own collagen and stay suspended in the tissues. If too much Artefill is Injected, it can lead to a visible bump. For this reason it is important to be conservative, meticulous, and not overcorrect with the injection. A well done Artefill treatment can give many years of excellent results
Doe Artefill Work for Frown Lines?
I have had excellent results using Artefill for frown lines. Additionally, I reviewed photographs for the 5 year results from Artefill and all results were long lasting and natural. I would say that using ArteFill or Juvederm in this area would be improved by using Botox as well to inhibit the muscle activity that causes the "eleven" lines
I saw my doctor today. I had an injection of Artefill in the Radix of the nose. It has been 4 months now. I wanted to get another injection to fill it a little bit more, like 2 mi limiters or 1, that's all it needs. She told me to wait another 4 months to make sure I wont be wasting money for nothing since I won't need a full syringe of Artefill, and to let the Artefill settle in a bit more. My question is can Artefill improve past the 4 months ?
Yes, it is best to give your ArteFill more time, unless it is certain you need more augmentation. The results seem to improve over a year.
