I'm 41yrs old and considering Thermage or CO2Laser for tightening the skin on face, under eye and neck. I am starting to get a turkey neck. I'm not ready for surgery but I was told that in five years I'll be ready for surgery to git rid of the turkey neck. Also, I'm seeing fine lines around my mouth area. Also, I have got redness on my face except under my eyes. I think it's sun damaged. I was told by two doctors to get Thermage and one doctor to get CO2 laser.
Thermage is a non-invasine, radio-frequency machine, that has no downtime and is used to tighten tissue and help stimulate collagen production. CO2 laser treatment is invasive and has downtime of a week to two weeks. It is not meant for tightening tissue but to resurface the skin.
Hope this helps.

How long do the neck tightening results last from a Thermage neck lift?
Thermage results can vary. Typically, if your provider says that you are a good candidate for Thermage then 3 to 6 months post treatment you will see the max effects of the skin tightening. I like to recommend 2 treatments 3 to 6 months apart for optimal results. In my office my PA's have been doing Thermage for over 9 years and the technology has changed. The new Thermage CPT does not hurt. So rest assure, if you are a "candidate" you will be pleasantly surprised with your treatment and results.
Good luck.

am on 5mg coumadin for a dvt...is it safe to have this new treatment????? thanks
Absolutely, there is no contraindication with getting a Thermage treatment while on Coumadin. You may be a little more sensitive to getting a slight superficial bruise due to continuous pulses in an area or pulling of the skin to help aid in the contouring of the area to tighten and stimulate collagen. Overall, it is absolutely safe for patients on coumadin.
Hope this helps.
