Is It Correct to Put Botox Just Behind the Tail of the Eyebrows to Try to Raise Them?

A: Botox to raise brows

Greetings~

There is no standard way to inject Botox that will have the same result for everyone.  Since Botox injections involve treating muscles involved with facial expression that can create certain lines and wrinkles or alter brow position.  For some people, raising the brow can involve an injection at the tail of the brow...for other patients it may involve treating the medial portions of the brow as well and/or treating certain areas of the forehead (frontalis) muscles as well.  Botox is something that is tailored for each patient, their muscles and what we are hoping to achieve.

Hope this helps~

Received 30 Units of Botox for my 11s but See Little Difference, Normal?

I received 30 units of botox 2 weeks ago for my # 11's.I see little difference in the muscle.I really dont know what to do. I went to a plastic surgeon 6 months ago and got only 20 units and it was fine.I went to a regular MD this time her prices were more reasonable.I realize that either 1. she dosent know how to inject botox in the correct spots or 2. she diluted it down to water. What can I do to insure this gets fixed right? Do I go back for a touch up? Isnt 30 units enough for this area?

A: Botox for the 11's

Greetings~

If it's been two weeks since your Botox injections you should see the full effect by now.  Regardless of how many units were injected, if you aren't seeing the results you anticipated always return to the office that injected you so you can have a face to face evaluation. Each office and provider can vary when it comes to touch ups. It's good to find out in advance what that particular office's policy is.  30 units is generally speaking an adequate dose for the 11's. (substantially more than many patients require and from what you say, quite a bit more than you had previously)  As with most injectables, neurotoxins like Botox, as well as fillers, the results can vary by injector.  If your Botox was perhaps not injected into the correct muscles or portions of the muscles then your results may not be ideal.

Good luck~

Once Botox Wears Off, is It Possible for the Muscle to Have Been Trained for at Least a Slight Permanent Fix?

After I try botox and once it wears off, is it really possible for the muscle to have trained itself to be more relaxed, and it my case remain maybe at least a little lower then it is now? I want to try it above my eyebrow to get my eyebrow to sit lower, because I have assymetric eyebrows. I ask this because if it's going to go back exactly the way it was, then there's no point. I don't want to get injections every 6 months for the rest of my life, i want a permanent fix :(

A: Lasting results from Botox

Greetings Tyler~

I wish I had a great answer or perfect solution for you.  It's difficult to say for sure what the effects of the Botox would be for your brow either short or long term without seeing you either in person or some more detailed photographs, including ones with you in different stages of animation. If the reason one brow is higher is because you have a natural tendency to raise one side then it is possible that a few treatments of Botox may help you re-learn or un-learn this behavior. If it is something that bothers you terribly and you want a permanent solution you may wish to consult a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon about your surgical options for correction.

Best of luck~
