I am an asian female, my nose is flat and small, I could like to have a Asian Rhinoplasty done with my rib and cartilage? However I heard that putting rib bone on your nose might end up crooked after a few years? I have no idea, any suggestions?
Filling in a bridge can be done with a variety of materials. Your own rib is the best choice. We do this via a mini-incision that reduces the pain associated with harvesting you rib. Ribs can warp over time, but is unlikely to happen if the pocket to put it in and the carving of the rib is done well.
Best Wishes
I'm in the last few months of researching before I schedule a date for my rhinoplasty. I am most interested in the autologous rib cartilage graft instead of using synthetic materials. In the attached image, the 1st image is my nose currently (my mother has a short nose and she passed it onto me...) and the 2nd is the nose I would love to have post-op. I was wondering, for the rhinoplasty procedure, is this achievable? A doctor told me he will be using my 7th rib cartilage to achieve the height.
You need significant augmentation. This can only be achieved with synthetic material or rib cartilage. Using your own is a great choice. Make sure the surgeon uses a mini-sliding incision for the rib graft.
Hi, Here are more photos of my nose. I would like to improve the shape of my nose by adding a little more nasal bridge. My goal is a natural look, not overly done. Your suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you.
You only need a little bit of correction to the bridge. Your tip support looks good. Of course, an in-office exam would be required to determine the best surgical plan. However, it appears that augmenting the bridge with your own septal cartilage from inside your nose is all that is required. This will give a natural look and avoids artificial implants.
