How will this affect the ability to breastfeed in the future? Will sensation be lost in the nipples?
A free nipple graft is not a common occurance but can happen during breast reduction surgery, especially is very large breast reductions or in a breast that is very very droopy (because the pedicle of the blood supply is longer and has to travel further.)
If the surgeon decides to perform a free nipple/areola graft during breast reduction surgery, the ability to breast feed will be lost since the ducts are cut. Sensation may return in time, but more often sensation is reduced or eliminated as well.
I had a breast reduction a month ago and the doctor removed 800gms from each breast. I am back to wearing normal bras. However still size D. I was 36 DDD before. I still feel they are big. Is it too early to worry about size? Any suggestions what size I will be? please help.
It is quite normal for a woman to have swelling in the breasts at one month following a breast reduction. There is a good chance that within the next 4-6 weeks you will see a change in the breasts as the swelling dissipates and they soften. In addition, an 800 gram reduction is a large reduction, and there was probably a limit to how small the surgeon could make your breasts without compromising the blood supply of the nipple and breast gland.
3 Months AFTER Breast Reduction Belly Extended All of a Sudden Look 9 Mo Pregnant
Possible explanations for a sudden distension of the belly would be a hernia, a tummy tuck rectus plication that failed, or some intraabdominal process that would need to be assessed by your physician. There are very few things that would cause your belly to extend all of a sudden. A slower process that may cause the extension could be weight gain---there is fat around the internal abdominal organs and putting on weight may increase this intraabdominal fat causing distension. I would play it safe and see your primary medical doctor for an exam.
