What is Cellulaze?

I've heard of a cellulite treatment called Cellulaze. What exactly is it, and does it work?

A: Cellulaze Cuts Through Cellulite

Cellulaze is the first minimally invasive solution for treating the physiological structure of cellulite. Developed by Cynosure, Inc., the Cellulaze system utilizes laser technology to cut through fibers that are the cause of cellulite, dimples or fat deposits beneath the surface of skin around the hips, thighs, and buttocks.

Cellulaze has been used in Europe since September of 2011 but Cynosure announced FDA approval in the U.S. on February 1, 2012.

From Cynosure's press release: "Nearly four years of clinical research puts Cellulaze in a class of its own: the only single-treatment aesthetic procedure clinically shown to reduce cellulite.  Clinical data has demonstrated that Cellulaze treatments can increase the thickness of the skin by 25% and increase the elasticity of the skin by 29% at one year.  No other anti-cellulite treatment has been proven to deliver these results."

I have looked at the data from this research and found it extremely impressive which is why I will be offering Cellulaze beginning in March of this year at Advanced Concepts in Plastic surgery in Sacramento.

What are The Benefits to Using Botox at a Younger Age?

Are there studies that show Botox will prevent deep wrinkles if patients start using it sooner?

A: Botox is a Wrinkle Preventer

Don't wait too long.   Every time you make an expression such as smiling or frowning you are creating wrinkles between the eyebrows, the forehead and the smiling eyes area.  When you begin to see tiny wrinkles then it would be a great time to Botox.  These areas will not be able to wrinkle as deeply as they will without help.  Botox is a wrinkle preventer.

Need To Redo BA w/ Silicone After Bottoming Out, Any Advice? (photo)

I had my BA two months ago. (330, silicone, super high profile, submuscular, infra) Now I know my breasts have bottomed out. The doctor said he would expand the pocket (upper pole) and he could take some skin bellow the niples too. Since the silicone is lower than the position it should be, if takes off this skin, the breast will go down instead of the silicone going up, Am I wrong??? What should be done so it would look better??

A: Revision breast augmentation

Thanks for the question and the pictures.  It appears that you have bottoming out and this requires surgical intervention to repair.  In addition to suture techniques which close the inferior aspect of the pocket to push the implant back up into its proper position, I often use Strattice.  It's a collagen matrix that provides a great deal of strenght to the repair.

You may want to wait a few months to allow for the swelling to decrease a little more, and the capsule to form a bit more in order to have the best tissue to repair.  In the meantime, wear a supportive bra to prevent further downward movement.

I hope this helps.
