What is Wrong with my Eyes, They've Started Drooping? (photo)

Over the last few months, I've developed this odd drooping on my left eyelid, and a fold in my right. This seems to be most prominent in the evenings, and looks better when I'm well rested. I'm in my early 20's and can tell that this is quite a recent development. Not sure if it's relevant, but I have also started getting bad double and blurry vision and muscle weakness. What is wrong with my eyes? Is this ptosis? How can it be fixed? Thanks very much.

A: Eyelid ptosis or droopy eyes

Your pictures indicate that you have eyelid ptosis. this can have medical, genetic, and structural causes. You will need to be carefully evaluated by an ophthalmologist, prior to considering surgical repair.

How Can I Tell if I Have Uneven Eyelid Crease or Ptosis?

My right eyebrow has, as long as I can remember, been higher than my left. Recently though it seems as though it's higher than ever before and it's starting to affect my confidence. I look closely and see that the crease is a few mm higher than my left eye, but when I measure my eyelid opening, both eyes are identical. So is that ptosis or just an abnormal eyelid crease (height wise). I know ptosis can cause a lifted brow to compensate, but wouldn't my eyelid opening still differ? Thanks!

A: Eyebrow asymmetry and eyelid sagging or ptosis

It is very common to see one eyebrow higher than the other, especially the right one. This is not caused by or is a sign of eyelid sagging or ptosis. if your upper eyelid does not approximate or cover your Iris then you don't have eyelid ptosis. Brow ptosis or sagging as well as brow asymmetry can be improved with a browlift procedure.

A: Upper eyelid pufiness and possible need for upper eyelid tuck

In young people ypper eyelids can get puffy or swollen as a result of inflammation caused by allergy or other insults. in older people upper eyelid skin excess can hang over the eyes and give a person the apperance of being tired.
