What's Your Opinion on the Sub-fascial Breast Implant Compared to Subpectoral?

Is it really better than sub pectoral? I am getting a full lift with small impants in April and never heard of sub fascia before. It all sounded impressive but I`m a bit sceptical. Loved the facts and the PS is highly recommended, he really explained all the facts but I wanted to hear other opinions. Thank you!

A: Sub-Facial Breast Augmentation

Hello Zsuzsika26,

Subfacial breast augmentation has not shown to be any different than subglandular breast augmentation in terms of risks, benefits, or appearance.  Some women could potentially be good candidates for subglandular breast augmentation and therefore also subfacial augmentation. However, subpectoral breast augmentation with properly sized implants will lead to the best aesthetic results for the majority of women.

Best of luck!

5 Wks Post Op, 400 Cc High Profile Implants, What Cup Size? (photo)

Hello, I am 5 weeks post op. I had 400 cc Mentor High Profile implants put in under the muscle (partially). I did not have a lift. Prior to surgery I was a 32A, I had shown my PS pictures and said I wanted to be a very full C. I am 5'2 and weigh 122 lbs. I measured my breasts yesterday and I am only measuring as a B cup. I am very disappointed. Also, although they appear round from some angles, from other angles they almost look flat. Did I go to small implant wise? Will they always appear flat?

A: Bigger Breast Implants

Hello Kricketkricket,

You've maxed out on implant size.  As for the 'high profile', you are a perfect example of how implant profiles won't lift the breast or reposition the nipple.  The 'flatness' you are perceiving has something to do with your implants filling the upper pole of the breasts and your chest, but is doing very little for your breast tissue that sits below it.  If your breast tissue was properly draped over the implant you'd have more projection, and less 'flat' appearance.

One of the conversations you should have had with your doctor is about the inability to guarantee a cup size, and that bra sizes in general are not standardized units of measurement, varying a great deal from bra to bra, and between manufacturers.

If after 3 to 6 month healing period you have no other objections, you'd be a good for a breast lift.  Please don't entertain larger implants, that won't help you in the short or long term.

Best of luck.

How Much Time off Work is Appropriate for Breast Implants? I Wear Body Armor in my Job.

I work in security and wear body armor. I want breast implants but don't want to risk damaging them by returning to work too soon. I have read the many comments on when to return to work, but my job is a little different than most. I do not have my vest on 24/7. But do need to have it on at least 30 minutes out of the day. I do not want to damage my implants or cause any undue pain by returning to work to early. Have their been any other patients that have jobs where vests, guns, and ammo are the norm, and what was the recommended recovery time for that?

A: Breast Augmentation Recovery

Hello Dragontails,

I have had the honor of performing breast augmentation on over two dozen Women in Blue hear in Los Angeles, as well as a few security guards too.  They've ranged from officers, detectives, gun specialists, and regular patrol. I've told all of them that two weeks was plenty (those with desk jobs, two to three days), and to return to the gym at that time too, most complying with my recommendations. I have them lifting their arms over their heads 5 times every hour and lie on their chest as well, starting the evening of the surgery day.  Their only medication is Motrin. It is all part of a complete program that all my breast augmentation patients follow. Most surgeons' recommendations will probably differ, but this is a proven program that I adopted from Dr. Tebbits in Dallas 10 years ago.

Best of luck!
