Squishy Skin on Nose 7 Months After Tipplasty, Is this Likely to Heal/Change?
I had a tipplasty about 7 1/2 months ago where my bulbous tip cartilage was reduced. Now, the skin on the front of my nose is squishy. When I touch it, it looks and feels exactly as if I was poking my cheek. Maybe its excess skin or fluid/tissue under the skin but I'm certain its not the cartilage structure underneath that is moving. Higher up on my nose where the skin rests on the bone is normal. Is this something that will heal/change with more time or is it just the result of the surgery?
A: Squishy skin or thick skin?7 months after your surgery should have given your tip skin ample time to settle down. The skin could be thicker than desired, especially if you have active sebaceous glands. I would see your surgeon and ask if a steroid injection might help to thin this tissue. A series of injections monthly may be indicated. Revision surgery or dermabrasion may also be considered after one year has elasped.
What is the Best Method/technique of Fat Harvesting and Injecting?
1)What is the best method/technique of fat harvesting in which the cells survival is the most? 2)Is the injecting technique/method as important as the fat harvesting part? If yes, tell me about the best injecting technique/method also. Thanks, Best Regards
A: Fat Transfer TechniquesThere is a lot of hype in this market due to the fact that there are a lot of competing systems out there being pitched to doctors. To my knowledge, none have been scientifically proven more successful than the others. The basics apply to any technique: low pressure fat harvest, treat the fat gently, inject with micro-cannulas in a careful, well-dispersed fashion. Ask to see before/after photos, or speak to a patient who has had the procedure to gage your surgeon's success with this procedure.
I am coming up on a year since my facelift surgery and am unhappy with the blepharoplasty results. My surgeon agrees that he will have to do more to achieve proper results on my neck but when I said I was concerned about my eyes, he said it was just my skin. After paying a small fortune for this surgery and understanding that the results would last for years, I am disappointed. I really like my surgeon but I am not happy with the results.
A: Blepharoplasty ResultsUpper eyelid surgery is best done conservatively. Most patients want a natural look, and not a "hollowed out" appearance for the eyes. For that reason it is good to leave some fat and even skin around the upper eye. If the skin is not crepy looking it is not necessarily a sign of age. In your case, it is impossible to say for sure without an in-person consultation. Good luck!
