Do You Reccomend Lovenox Injections for DVT/PE Prevention After TT and if So, for How Long?

Also wondering if you reccomend an overnight hospital stay.

A: Lovenox for tummy tucks

The previous posts all provide very good information.  I personally  prescribe Lovenox for all of my patients who are having a tummy tuck, as this procedure is the highest risk in the Plastic Surgery field for PE/DVT.  I have my patients start their first dose 3 hours prior to surgery, and I do require an overnight stay after surgery.  I have not seen an increase in post operative bleeding, and I believe that this greatly decreases the risk of a pulmonary embolism or deep vein thrombosis, so I am able to sleep better!  If a patient is adverse to using the Lovenox, it is their choice, but I always give them a Rx for it.

One Breast Still Won't Drop 4 Months PO, Will It Ever?

I am 4 months out from a lift/ augmentation and my right implant refuses to drop. I am pretty sure the left one has because it is lower, softer and fuller at the bottom ( like I expected) but the right one is still high and hard. My surgeon gave me no instructions after the surgery ( compression bands, massage, etc.) and just said nature would take its course just don't wear an underwire bra for 6 weeks. I turn when I hug people hello bc it's so hard my children have even commented on it.

It sounds like you may have developed a capsular contracture, if your breast is hard and wont drop.  I agree with Dr. Schuster, it likely will not drop, and may even worsen if it is indeed a capsular contracture.  I recommend that you make an appointment with your surgeon to be evaluated.  Good luck.

Are There Special Considerations for Liposuction on Asian Patients? I Scar Easily.

I'm female, 27,5'2'', 120 pound. I'm athletic, but all my life have had fat in my lower abdomen. I'm asian and have skin that scars VERY easily. I was reading on Realself that a doctor suggested VASER lipo since it worked better on asian patients "since they tended to have fibourus fat" What type of Lipo would work best for me? Are there any special considerations for asian patients? I've found someone sites that talk about "asian liposuction"--is there such a thing?

A: Liposuction on Asian Patients

The results that you will get with liposuction will be determined by the sureons ability, not the type of procedure that you choose.  The skin incision should be monitored to be sure that you heel well, but the end results for the liposuction will be determined by the surgeon's expertise and you following your surgeons post operative care.  Good luck!
