About two months ago I had my plastic surgeon inject juvederm under my eyes (they were quite sunken) and into the lines around my mouth. I couldn't be more thrilled with the under-eye results. My eyes look wonderful. However, the lines around my mouth still seem pretty pronounced to me. My surgeon said that they would not go away completely, but rather soften. Is it possible for my surgeon to use more of the product for even better results? I think he was very conservative with the injection
I agree that it is difficult to eradicate the fine lines around the mouth. You cannot put so much filler in them, as they will look lumpy. You may need to go back every few months for a little bit more, to layer the filler. The filler will also help to stimulate your own collagen formation. I agree that the goal is to soften.
Hi everybody I had juvederm injection 3 years ago in the upper lips . I had 2 vials just in the upper lips while my lips were ok. After the injection , one year after actually , the product begun to dissolve but not in a homogenous way . the product broke ( if i can say that )and i had little holes in the upper lips . I still can see the product after three years . Should i use Hyalorunidase to dissolve it , will it dissolve only the Juvederm without any risk for my lip ? Thank you
Hyaluronidase is ok to use, and will not dissolve your natural tissue. I am not sure what you mean by holes. When I look at the upper lip in this photos, I see the line is uneven, a bit wavy. If that is what you are referring to, and you are sure it wasn't like that when you started, then I would recommend some hyaluronidase to get any residual product out. Three years is a long time to still have the product there, but it is not impossible. In the future, I would not recommend putting that much product in the lip as it tends to look too unnatural.
I can feel the thread of jevederm injection, is this normal?
I just had my first juvederm injection. I love the results however when the doctor was injecting a marinette line it hurt much worse than the other side and I first thought it felt numb..when I got home I realized I can feel I think what is called the thread, will this disolve or it is normal, I plan to call the office but am curious what other specialist have to say.
If you can feel the Juvederm beneath the skin, it may have been injected too superficially or close to the skin's surface. Certain areas have very thin skin (under eyes) and the Juvederm product needs to be injected fairly deeply to avoid a visible bulge or a palpable bulge. The bulge will eventually resolve as this product only lasts about 6-8 months. However if the bump/bulge troubles you, I would recommend you ask your injector to consider injecting Hyaluronidase, which is a chemical that can help dissolve the active ingredient in the Juvederm.
Best wishes,
Dr. Bruno
