So, I decided to join this community to share my upcoming rhinoplasty experience. I broke my nose in 2001, and didn't have it properly set at the time. I have been living with a huge (in my opinion), crooked downward-sloping nose ever since. Finally decided to get it fixed. I'm excited about my soon-to-be new look, but nervous (like most people) about the general anaesthesia experience and... more
Well It all started because I began having breathing and sleeping problems a few years ago. However more recently it began to get worst. Friends would tell me that I was falling asleep during conversations and while out at dinner, then would wake up a few moments later not really recalling ever dozing off. I even dozed off momentarily during my college graduation ceremonie (I have pictures to... more
I will try to update with pics as soon as possible but right now it is hard for me to take one without crying. I had my procedure a few weeks ago with a double board certified ENT/ Facial cosmetic surgeon. I decided on him after meeting with two other cosmetic surgeons. I had an open septoplasty/ turbinate reduction/ rhinoplasty with cartilage graft. My nose had been broken once before. My... more
It probably comes as no surprise that I have hated my nose for a long time. It was perfectly fine until I was about 12 or 13 and then it just got horrible. Plastic surgery was never an option because I couldn't afford it so I just lived with my nose and have been self conscious about it every day for the last 14 years. Things are different now. A few weeks ago it occurred to me that... more
I paid a top-surgeon price to Dr. Mehta, and got a lot of problems. He is very kind, and listens to you, and answers your questions, which is why I went with him. BUT, my open nose surgery was a mess. He didn't know who the anesthesiologists, even though he told me beforehand that he did. And the anesthesiologist guy showed up the surgery 3 hours late. I should have just walked away at... more
For over 15 years I have been thinking to to myself, what does my REAL nose look like under this big thing on my face? Not that I hate myself for having this nose, nor do I blame my father for passing it down to me. I actually like how I look and have a very blessed life. I'm sure many of you can relate, my nose just does not feel like it belongs on my face. To make matters worse, at age... more
I was always too afraid of getting a nose job because I would often see over-projected or turned up noses and I didn’t want to look like someone else. I often found myself liking the before pictures better than the after. I was happy with my looks but did not like my bulbous tip. One night I came across a website that had amazing before/after pictures and they were located in the bay... more
I hated my nose growing up, specially in High School. I hardly had any self esteem. I was about to enter College and wanted a new start, so I went for having a nose job. I knew my parents would be againts it, but I paid made all the arrangements and then told them I was doing this. it turned out that they were supportive. I went throught the operation absolutely... more
