How to Remove Broken Capillaries Above the Eyelids?

Hi. Since having my eyebrows threaded some time ago and been asked to pull the skin taut while she was doing it, I have noticed that some purple/blue veins have appeared above my eyelids immediately after and have not disappeared.

Is there any way to have these removed as they were not there before the threading?

Thanks,
Sandra

A: Vessels above the eyelids

Greetings~

Without seeing you face to face it would be difficult to say with any certainty what your treatment options may be.  If the vessels are small and close to brow but not on the lid itself, you may be a candidate for a laser treatment for vessels such as Nd:YAG or KTP.  These lasers are very effective at reducing unsightly vessels with little to no discomfort and downtime.  For any vessels, but especially on the face, it is best to consult someone with a great deal of experience in using lasers for this particular issue.

Good luck~

Treatment for Broken Capillaries on Face

My skin is very fair and I am in my late 30s. I tried IPL spot treatments (at a medspa chain) but they did not seem to do anything. I'm not sure if it's because the technician used the wrong setting or if my skin is just stubborn and needs a stronger laser. I would like to avoid a lot of downtime if possible. Thank you!

A: Treatment of "broken" capillaries on the face

Greetings~

There are many options for the treatment of the small, visible blood vessels and capillaries on the face so don't give up yet.  IPL is a common treatment because it can be performed by almost anyone because it is not considered a laser. (Just because it is not laser doesn't mean it can't be harmful in the wrong hands)  In our office we utilize a multitude of different wavelengths and types of laser treatments including KTP, Pulsed Dye and Nd:YAG, as well as IPL treatments.  The key to success with vessels on the face or body is experience.  There are many variables and a wide variety of treatment parameters that can customize the treatment to specific patients.  Seek out an office and provider that has had a great deal of experience with these treatments and can review your options with you after looking at your skin and what you would like to address.  Don't give up hope!

Good luck~

I Have a Painful Vein Under my Breast. I Am Very Busty. What Are My Options?

I Have a Painful Vein Under my Breast. I Am Very Busty. What Are My Options?

A: Need to be examined

Without examining it is difficult to say with certainty what the problem would be.  Best thing to do is see your plastic surgeon who performed the surgery.  But, most likely it could be thrombosis of a vein which can be helped with warm compresses and NSAIDS.  Speak to your plastic surgeon to get a more accurate diagnosis and treatment.
