I Want to Have a Baby Next Year but I Want Smart Lipo This Year. Should I Wait Til After?

Since I was in the 9th grade I have had a belly. Im now 22 and I have tried everything to get rid if it.. I HATE THIS BELLY!! I'm turning 23 in August n I want to look fab,so I was thinking of smartlipo. I havnt worn a bikini since I was 12, n now that I'm grown I would like to feel sexy and confident n whatever I wear. But I am engaged n I do want kids. Can I do the smartlipo and still have a baby n a year or two?

A: Having SmartLipo prior to pregnancy is not a mistake in the right circumstance

SmartLipo will help remove subcutaneous fat as well as possibly tighten the skin a little bit depending on what you need this may be very helpful.  The fat removal is permanent and will not return.  However, with pregnancy you may gain weight with additional subcutaneous fat all over the body including the abdomen.  This additional weight would be gained whether you have had Smartlipo or not.  Also, the skin as well as muscle wall may stretch with pregnancy so the treatment for this will not be Smartlipo but a tummy tuck.  It’s best to make the decision, whether to proceed with Smartlipo now or wait, with your plastic surgeon who has examined you.   In conclusion, having Smartlipo prior to pregnancy is not a mistake in the right circumstance.

How Much Does Smart Lipo Cost?

Is there a flat Smart Lipo price or do you pay per area? Does the amount of fat you have taken out affect the cost of SmartLipo?

A: Laser liposuctions are getting cheaper and cheaper as results seem to be less than expected.

I've seen a lot of laser liposuctions advertised as $995 per area. Laser liposuctions are turning up many of the bad results seen in liposuction procedures today causing dimpling, puckered skin and burns.  It is becoming less used by lipo experts and getting to be the cheapest liposuctions advertised out there for obvious reasons.  Some docs can still do a decent job with laser lipos but it is not the norm.  Sincerely,

Pulling Sensation 2 Years After Smart Lipo

I had tumescent fluid and smart-lipo performed on my abdomen in December 2008. Since then I still have a pulling sensation on the right side of my belly button and I remember it was an area that hurt during the procedure and I asked for more anthestetic. I am a male and it feels like you are slightly pulling on my abdomen hairs. It comes and goes and drives me nuts and I still rub on it. Any advice? Would another procedure in my abdomen cause more problems?

A: Cortisone shots may improve nerve inflammation causing sensations.

Cortisone shots may improve the inflammation of nerves that may be attributed to your sensation. See your doc about it.
