Hello, im confused on how to balance my facial skin care regimen. In the morning i use acanya gel which has a mixture of antibiotic cream and benzoyl peroxide. At night i use Retin-A...This plan has helped to keep me relatively acne free. But i would also like to add a vitamin c antioxidant serum to my regimen. When is the best time for me to put it on considering the other products i use and the reactions they might have together? Thank you.
I agree with using your Retin-A at night. It is not stable if it is exposed to sunlight or if it's mixed with benzoyl peroxide. If you are interested in starting a vitamin C antioxidant serum, that one is best applied in the morning. Vitamin C and other antioxidants can give you some additional protection from sun damage. Serums are meant to be applied directly on clean skin, so I would suggest applying that first, then your Acanya, and then sun protection (at least SPF 30 containing UVA and UVB protection such as zinc or titanium).
...who has been using Retin-A (0.1%) for about 14 years now? I don't use it every night, but probably about 3-4x/wk. I also take Triamterene w/Hctz 70/50 mg 1/2tab/1x/daily for fluid retention. I would like to start the 30-35% GA peels at home, but am apprehensive about the negative side effects. I have Silk Peel done at a Medspa and loved it and the results. How do use dermabrasion and GA on a regimen together?
I highly recommend you see a plastic surgeon or a dermatologist for guidance first! This could be more beneficial to you than to trying a new regimen without supervision. More harm than good could potentially come of this.
Good luck.

Can I use Finacea to control skin redness if I am already on a treatment of Retin A?
I frequently have patients use Finacea and Retin-A together for acne, rosacea, or sun-damaged skin. Both of them can potentially cause some irritation, so I recommend starting one at a time. If you are already using Retin-A, you could try using the Finacea every other day at first to see if you skin will tolerate it. I would recommend using Finacea in the AM followed by a broad-spectrum sunscreen and Retin-A at night followed by moisturizer if needed.
