I had my saline implants replaced after 20yrs with pocket tightening. Dr Hess and his staff are amazing. I am almost 3 months out and very pleased with my results. I left it up to him to decide which size to place since I had some rippling with my old ones. Now they are perfect. I am very happy with my results. He also called me that night to check on me and told me to personally call him if I had any questions.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE DR HESS AND HIS TEAM!! It was my first surgery, I went from having no boobs to the perfect size with their help. I get many compliments and people asking where I went to :) I was on the fence with 325 cc and 350 cc and Gracie (AMAZING by the way) helped me decide!!! The team is so supportive and helpful. Elia and Gracie helped me choose my size and reassured me the entire time, I was nervous to go under but knowing they were there was so helpful. Dr Hess is a miracle worker: he answered all my questions and reassured me of any problems, did a wonderful job, easy to talk to and most importantly got me to this point!! Dr. Hess is amazing! I waited about 6 months to write this review so that I had hindsight when doing so and I am over the moon. If you're considering this surgery, just do it. It will be terrible for the first week and don't kid yourself of anything less (I did despite how many reviews I read), so make sure you have someone to help you, especially to get out of bed the first few days. The first week is terrible and you'll wonder if you made a mistake and then it gets much better. After the first month, you're almost back to feeling like yourself (a new and improved version!). I finally feel like the outside matches all the hard dieting and exercise work I've put in for so many years post kids that never got rid of the pooch. And if you're in San Diego and looking for a surgeon, Dr. Hess is your man. He did a great job and the scar is almost unnoticeable after 6 months. He's a great human, very meticulous and it shows in his work. You won't be disappointed.

I love my results. I feel very fortunate to have Dr. Jason Hess performed my procedure. Words cannot express the sincere thanks and appreciation I feel for the extraordinary care I received from Dr Hass. Dr. Jason Hess is THE BEST plastic surgeon in San Diego, if not all of California! He is so incredibly kind and personable, as well as the entire office staff! Dr. Hess gets to know you, and genuinely wants to make you happy! He takes his time during surgeries (as many other plastic surgeons do not) because he wants it to be perfect and wants you to be fully satisfied. I had a breast augmentation and lip fillers and I could not be happier with my results! I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Hess to anyone wanting to get any type of plastic surgery done :)

Dr. Hess is the BEST! Extremely happy with the outcome of my procedure. I am a 63 years old woman, who had four children all c-sections, a big incision scar from my gallbladder removal back in the 90’s, a stomach that was large and excessive skin that draped around my clothing. After talking to Dr. Hess he recommended the best procedure that will give me the best results and that made the most sense to me. He performed an advanced type of tummy tuck called a “fleur-de-lis” abdominoplasty. Dr. Hess transformed my stomach by removing 10 lbs. of fat and extra skin and old scar. It’s been seven months since my procedure. I am super happy with my results, dramatic improvement in both abdominal skin and muscle tone. He has a good bedside manner. He called me after the procedure to see how I was doing and has been available to answer any questions. Dr. Hess is a rare surgeon. He listens and delivers! He spent 1.5 hours with me during my free consult and he answered every questions and concerns. I asked him about rapid recovery, and he went over the procedure with me thoroughly. I asked if he could inject a long acting anesthesia before cutting me open and he said yes. I had my surgery 10/29 and was able to go trick or treating two days post op.Drove my daughter to school on day 3 post op. I'm 9 days post op and can do pretty much anything minus lifting heavy stuff. He checked on me from his personal cell phone a few hours after I got home, and always answer my text. It's really nice to have your surgeon on your fingertips. I read him up intensively, and every websites says good things. Like most women, I shopped around for plastic surgeon, mostly those practice in affluent neighborhood like la Jolla, but I'm so so glad I went with Dr. Hess!

I was diagnosed 17 years ago with ER+/her2+ breast cancer in my left breast. I had a mastectomy of my left breast – in those days bilateral mastectomies were not recommended. I did not opt for reconstruction and lived with that for five years. At five years to celebrate my survival against all odds and because I was tired of wearing the heavy silicone insert I decided to have reconstruction using the expander method with a silicone implant. I decided to not have an implant in my real breast so as not to interfere with mammograms. My goal was to look as normal as possible therefore I did not want to go any bigger than my existing 34B size. Unfortunately I got a plastic surgeon who thought everyone wanted to look like Dolly Parton and he basically did a very poor expansion ( bumps and crevices and a very poor shape) and I looked like I had a massive goiter growing on my chest that was about twice the size of my existing breast. I changed plastic surgeons and he spent the next 10 years trying to correct the botched job the original surgeon did. This entailed trying to make the expansion sack look normal, trying different types of implants and having lifts done on my real breast. I had ongoing problems with capsular contracture which necessitated having to change the implants more than I wanted. My last implant in 2011 was a teardrop gummy bear that did not fit well into the expansion but was better than the others. Unfortunately I develop some cc that made it look tighter and higher than my existing breast. My insurance changed and I got a new plastic surgeon who did a lift to the real breast that helped for a year or so but the cc continued to get worse and worse until finally it was at about a 4. On December 7, 2016 my new plastic surgeon inserted a Mentor memory shape 300cc breast implant medium height, high profile to my left breast (about the same size as the one I already had) and did a mega lift on my right breast. The cc had been so invasive that it actually invaded the implant so it did need to be changed out. In retrospect I wish that I had gone smaller on the left breast--a low profile, low height would've been better-- I feel that there is too much fullness on the upper pole and projection on the lower pole. I also wish that I had waited on the lift to see how the implant would look. But I am only a month out and my surgeon tells me that there is still quite a bit of swelling in the implant and the lift still needs to drop. If I had everything to do over again I would've had a bilateral mastectomy and therefore avoided the journey of trying to match apples and oranges--It's just not possible. My goal of looking normal may never be achieved and I am preparing myself for at least one more surgery to perhaps replace the implant with a smaller one. I have attached two photos--one on the day of my surgery and how I look now one month out. Still hoping that things will look more symmetric. Updated on 5 Jan 2017: I am now one month out and was able to take the tape off today. I am posting an after picture that shows the left breast implant and the right breast lift. The right breast (real breast) is supposed to drop and the swelling underneath is from some liposuction he did so hopefully I will have better lower pole fullness in that breast to match the lower projection of the implant. Updated on 19 Jan 2017: Saw Dr. Hess for my 6-week check up and he feels that all is doing well. I am still concerned that the left breast implant is too big and that the lower pole projection is too much. Right real breast lift is starting to settle but still lacks any lower pole projection--swelling underneath is from the lipo he did because the previous implant was smaller than my real breast. However, I am happier than I was before the revision and just need to be patient about the right breast lift relaxing and developing some projection. I have not eliminated the idea of having one more go at it and having a smaller implant with less projection done in 6 months or so--just need to see what happens. Updated on 19 Jan 2017: Sorry--for some reason my photo did not post. Just want to add that I added my prosthetic nipple to the left breast implant to show you what it looks like. I have opted for this instead of a tattoo because of all the revisions I have been through. Also, the swelling under the real right breast from the lipo--hope that will go away and the breast with drop and project. Getting closer to matching apples and oranges :)
