Is It Possible to Remove a Congenital Hairy Nevus? Price? (photo)

I have a 4inch long x 2inch wide congenital hairy nevus on the inside of my upper right arm. It's very large and looks like it has dozens of small beauty marks inside it. What would the process of removing it include and how much would it cost? Thank you!

A: Congenital Hairy Nevi are usually removed in a series of excisions.

Removing this congenital hairy nevus would probably be best done in a series of excisions under local anesthesia.  Probably about 3 surgeries @ $1000 each.  Sincerely,

Shave the Mole or Remove It All by a Plastic Surgeon? (photo)

Hi, I have a mole that is located on my left cheek right above the mustache end. This mole is about to be removed by a plastic surgeon.I know I am going to have a scar and I have been researching the mole removal procedures and it seems this is the procedure that will leave the biggest scar out of all the other procedures. So now I am reluctant to remove the mole using this method and I am thinking about shaving the mole and have less scar? So what do you doctors think? shave it or remove it?

A: Dark moles are usually best excised and sutured up.

Your mole will most likely look the best with an excision with dermabrasion of the edges and a couple of tiny sutures followed by a light dermabrasion of the scar about 6 weeks later.  Sincerely,

Options for Removing a Flat Mole on my Eyelid?

I would like to get my mole removed but without a big damage on my face. What are my mole removal options? thanks for your suggestion!

A: Dark flat moles on the eyelid do best with excision and dermabrasion.

I would excise the mole and dermabrade the edges to give the best cosmetic results.  Cost is estimated at $500 under local anesthesia with no down time and is easy to undergo.  Sincerely,
