Is Liposuction Safe? What Are the Most Common Risks Associated with Lipo?
Is Liposuction Safe? What Are the Most Common Risks Associated with Lipo?
A: When you eliminate "General Anesthesia", you've eliminated the biggest risk in Liposuction!Liposuction is a fairly safe procedure with minimal risks when done under local tumescent anesthesia in a healthy and appropriate patient. The biggest risk with almost any cosmetic procedure is general anesthesia. There are more minor risks involving allergies, contour irregularities, infections, etc... but when done in an appropriate setting and with appropriately experienced docs, you should have a good experience with good results. Which Do You Think is Better to Combat the Dreaded Frown Line...botox or Juvederm?
I am going to have either or done next week for my frown line between my eyes. I can't stand it! I had a conservative amount of Botox done for this last year and it worked fine, but I still was able to see a faint line still. Do you think that getting Juvederm this time around would be a better option, or should I just ask for more Botox?
A: Many patients need both Restylane/juvederm and Botox/Dysport for the frown lines.Fillers like restylane or juvederm fill in the lines whereas botox/dysport help the muscles not move as much to make the lines less pronounced. Many patients need both and they can be done at the same time easily. Expect to pay about $350 for a half syringe of filler and about $300 for botox or dysport in this area. Doing both will probably make the most improvement of all. Sincerely,

Why Do I Have Such Pronounced Wrinkles at 18?
I'm 18 and mid last year, I started to experience changes to my appearance. I suddenly developed prominent nasolabial folds, marionette lines, fine lines, lip wrinkles and crow's feet. I've been using a retinol around my eyes for the past four months, but nothing has changed. I have always looked young for my age. I'm healthy, a good weight, I've never smoked, I spend little time outside. My parents, despite being almost 60, look younger than their years. What is happening to my face?
A: Pronounced Wrinkles at 18If these changes have occurred as suddenly as you have stated, you should see your internist to make sure there is no systemic reason for the change in your appearance. In other words, you need a complete physical examination. Another thing that can cause your appearance to change in the way you described is sudden weight loss so please make sure you are maintaining an adequate diet and leading a healthy lifestyle both mentally and physically.
