I did at home 8% TCA peel that I had had good results with the 2 other times I used it. I never got any flakiness, only some redness and good healing. The last one, late June, I got flaking under my nose. I went out in the sun used 50 facial sunscreen. I didn't think about it and washed the flakiness off in the shower. Now I have an atrophic scar 2 inches long under my nose that is affecting the way I smile. It looks horrible! You can see scar only when I smile.
This is likely the result of uneven peeling which is why TCA peels should be done by a professional. Depending on what it looks like and what restrictions you have from this, you may need to see a facial plastic surgeon to surgically revise the area.
I recently applied a 25% TCA peel, and feel like I went too deep for some parts of my face on near my cheeks. I am halfway through my peel with my forehead to go, but I have very red parts of my face I feel went too deep. I have put ointment on these parts which makes it feel better. Will this go away after a few days, or did I make a mistake?
That is too high a concentration for you to be doing yourself at home. Please seek a professional to do your TCA peels before you have irreversible results.
Hi, I have these horisontinal lines in my forehead, that I would love to even out. The lines are a bit deeper than showen on the picture. I have been using 12,5 TCA peel - 4 to 5 layver - 2 times. My skin has peeled quite deep, but the result is absolutely minimal. I am now considering trying a 21% TCA peel. Can you tell me if you think that a TCA peel can do anything for lines like these? Smile R
A combination of medical grade skincare and chemical peels can address your areas of concern. Unfortunately, chemical peels are not a "one peel fits all" and will need to be customized for your needs. In my office, all of the peels are customized to help my patients achieve the results they desire.
