I Had a Rhinoplasty and Am Not Satisfied with It and Now Want a Revision Rhinoplasty. What's Your Professional Opinion?

I still think my nose is unattractive and imperfect. What do you think of my nose? Please be honest.

A: Strong bridges make nose attractive

In general your nose looks good.  You may consider making your nasal bridge a little stronger, placing a little dermafiller.  On the profile view there is a very small concavity in the middle of your nose.  Filling this indentation may improve the shape and appearance.  You and your surgeon may try a little salt water test injection to see how you like it.  You should allow enough time for healing, at least 3 months prior to using fillers.

Often a good surgical rhinoplasty result can be improved with just a little filler to smooth the edges.

Good luck in your search for information.

Revision Options for Shifted Nose Implant and Breathing Issues?

Hi, I got a silicone nose implant one year ago. I think since my nose is quite deviated to start with the implant is shifted to the left. It feels tight and blocking most of my left nose, making quite hard to breath in on that side. I wanted to ask what are the best options for a revision? Could i also just get my nose bridge elevate the next time around since i'm quite happy with the rest of my nose.?

A: Revision Rhinoplasty

A silicone implant can be used to increase the height of the nose; however, this does not address any of the underlying anatomical problems that lead to breathing problems or deviation of your nose.  A proper evaluation and consultation should be undertaken with a board certified specialist who can best assist you in achieving the results you desire.

When is It too Early to Seek Consultations on Revision Rhinoplasty?

I am only a few weeks out of a open rhinoplasty. My result is everything I ask my surgeon not to do! At this point I no longer trust him to be objective. Can I start seeking a 2nd opinion from other doctors soon? I know I must wait a full year for a revision but want to be proactive during this time and seek hope that things can be improved. My doctor says the shape of things are what I can expect to see in the future and I am not very swollen at all.Thank you for your time:)

A: When can I get a revision rhinoplasty?

A few weeks is far too early.  The stress and concern you feel is common but trust your surgeon for now.  However, can you be proactive about your result and a potential revision?  Sure.  I would take good, consistent photos of yourself every two weeks and then look at the series after two months.  You'll be surprised how much your nose will change.  It will continue to evolve and change it's look for about 6 to 9 months.  I can be difficult but be patient.
