Can slack areolar skin be removed between the nipple and within the border of the areola? I do not want implants and want the most minimal of scarring. I am happy with my natural breast shape and size but am bothered by the stretched out areola. Can this be done and how does the scarring result?
Loose or slack areolar skin can be tightened and the size of the areola reduced with an areola reduction surgery. A donut shape of skin is removed within the edge of the areola and the incision is closed in a "purse string" fashion. Although scars can vary among individuals, the scars around the areola wil usually fade within 6 to 12 months.
I was born with inverted nipples that I've been highly self conscious about. I had nipple reconstruction done to fix them, but now they are just flat. Is there anything that can be done to have erect or semi-erect nipples?
Although you have had previous nipple surgery, there are still several options to further improve flat nipples. If the lactiferous ducts were not completely released during your surgery, further surgery may be necessary. If, however, the nipples simply lack support or volume, this could be corrected with either a fat graft or an injectible filler such as a hyaluronic acid (Juvederm or Restylane), or calcium hydroxyl apetite (Radiesse).
Thank you for the answer. Continuing with case (www.realself.com/question/aerola-reduction-surgery-problems). I have further comments. There wasn't a suture sewed around the areola. The surgeon used only stitches on the wound which were not dissolved by my body and my body made them hard, so the surgeon removed the previous scars by cutting it (the undissolved stitches) and redid the areola on the surface. After that 2nd "fixing" my boobs won't stop leaking. How could this be fixed now?
Dear Goforitt, if it has only been a couple of weeks since the second surgery this may be be associated with normal healing. However, if the drainage has persisted longer, there is redness, swelling or pain it could be a sign of an infection or seroma formation. You should check with your surgeon to see what should be done.
