I am undergoing rhinoplasty in January which I am excited about. I have also been given the option of a chin implant, but I saw on The Doctors TV show a lady getting 2 syringes worth of radanese ($1k each) and it will last a year. I'm considering trying radanese for a year and seeing how it goes and maybe testing a chin implant later... since I'm kinda scared of getting a foreign object placed in the chin. Based on my profile view, any thoughts?
I really like Radiesse for chin augmentation. The truth is, you can only get about 65-70% of the results that are possilbe with a chin implant, however often, that is enough.
With your chin in particular, you want to be careful to bring the chin forward, not downward. The fillers are actually a little better at controlling the direction of the augmentation.
Another really cool option for you is to have saline injected as a test first, then you can really try out the augmentation before treatment. It lasts about 10 minutes, then the saline is absorbed into your body.
Good luck in your search for information!
I saw this website on V-line chin augmentation. Are there any doctors in the los angeles area that are familiar or are capable of doing this type of surgery? or is this only available in korea? http://eng.idhospital.com/sub02/index402.asp

Looking for some advice on what to do with my chin. I do have an overbite, and I do not want to move my jaw and realign my teeth. I have a very naturally deep mental crease/fold. Feels like a step or shelf below my lower lip. I’m looking to improve 4 areas. Reduce my deep mental fold / crease Create a better angle in profile from chin to neck. cervicomental angle Improve Jaw line to be more defined. Harmony with chin and rest of face. Possibly adding vertical and horizontal height
Reviewing your photographs suggests that the vertical projection of your chin is deficient. Our understanding of what people consider "aesthetic" tells us that the distance from the base of the nose to the oral comissure (line between upper and lower lip) should be 1/2 the distance from the comissure to the lowest point on the chin. This is best assessed when viewing from the front. In the picture you provided, it appears that this ratio is closer to 1:1.
Also, you may have too much anterior projection in just one area, leading to the "shelf" you describe. Often these issues can be addressed with simple countouring of the bone and correction of the projection with implants. Of course, your facial plastic surgeon will be able to provide more detail.
