Understand that botox shot into the arm made a quad's hand moveable enough to use it. How much for an injection in my quad son's elbow to help him move his hand? And, is this safe?
Thanks for your question -
This is a complex question that you should consult a neurologist to get a qualified answer. Botox can be used to treat spastic paralysis by _increasing_ paralysis of overactive muscles.
Botox will not work for flacid paralysis or work to reverse paralysis.
In addition, if botox is appropriate, it would likely be covered by insurance.
Hope this helps.
I am in my early thirties and I do not get regular botox. I don't have any lines around my eyes at all unless I smile. The first time I got botox was 2 years ago and the doctor only gave me 5 units per side and it looked fine. When I went in 2 weeks ago, he gave me 10 units per side. Is that too much for someone my age? It's only been 2 years, and honestly I don't think I have aged that much.
Thank you for your question. I do not think that i would have given you botox if you "do not have any lines around my eyes at all unless I smile". Lines that appear around the eyes when smiling are very natural, normal and are not necessary a bad thing.
The amount of botox given to you for the crows feet area is within the normal dose range for this area. The amount of botox given will vary from person to person. The reason for this is that the amount of muscle that is present is different from person to person- more muscle requires more botox.
I had botox injected between my eye brows and just above my eyebrows just 24 hours ago, I have noticed that my left eye above my lid has some drooping going on, so what could be the problem ?
Unfortunately this undesired complication of droopy eyelids can happen even in the hands of the most experienced physician injector. This can be minimized by injecting at least 1cm above medial eyebrows and avoiding manipulation of injected sites within day of Botox, Dysport, Xeomin injection. Your experienced aesthetic physician may recommend eyedrops such as OTC Visine eyedrops 3x/day to the affected area. Thankfully, this complication of droopy eyelids after Botox, Dysport, or Xeomin injection is temporary and should self-resolve in few weeks.
