V Beam Vs IPL

Is the IPL out of style now?

A: Is IPL Out of Style?

Hi Sea Siren.  IPL has always been out of style for our practice because of the other lasers we use.  Wether you are targeting redness (V-Beam, V-Star or even pulsed dye) or brown spots (q-swictched Nd:Yg) we believe that lasers will always offer a superior outcome.

While IPL may be a good idea for a practice that only wants to buy one machine, it is the printer, fax, copier of the laser world - and it's not even a laser.  We opt for lasers at all times.

Treatment for V Beam Bruises?

I have very obvious bruising from the V Beam treatment I had on 5/8/09- looks like chicken pox on my nose & inner cheek area. When can I expect to see improvement?

A: Bruises from V-Beam

Believe it or not, we actually use the same laser (Cynosure V-Star) to treat the resulting bruising from the original Cynosure laser treatments. For example, when we bruise a patient (purposefully) to treat Rosacea, we have the patient come in 2 days later when the bruising has taken full effect. We then use a lower fluence (lower energy) treatment to remove the original bruises in less then 3 days after the second treatment.

If you are not getting a second laser treatment, then the bruising will most likely resolve in 7-10 days.

Is Vbeam a Good Laser Treatment for Rosacea?

Has anyone tried vbeam laser for rosacea treatment? Is it effective? How soon? What was healing like? Did you need more than one session?

A: V-Beam for Rosacea Treatment

The Candela V-Beam (and Cynosure V-Star) are excellent options for Rosacea. Many of our patients that consider laser treatments for Rosacea have already used topical prescription products and are looking for a different solution.

The number of treatments associated with the V-Beam or V-Star lasers for Rosacea depends on the severity of your condition. In addition, it is important to understand that Rosacea is a condition that is managed and not cured. Even when results are positive in the initial laser program, future laser treatments will be required.
