How Can I Correct Bad Juvederm Results Under my Eyes? (photo)

Had Juvederm done under my eyes. After the 1st treatment - a very uneven result-one eye socket looked half an inch or more lower.Went in to correct it, and instead of a correction - ended up with a big protruding bulge under my right eye and a small "ridge" under my left. Went back asking the PA to fix this. He tried to move the Juvederm, which did nothing except cause a lot of pain, and told me to put ice on the area & use a bleaching cream. As I expected - zero result. How can this be fixed?

A: Can Bad Juvederm Injections be Fixed?

Hi Curious.  The good news is that the injections can be fixed.  We are in Los Angeles and use a product called Vitrase (hyaluronidase) which is an enzyme that can break down hyaluronic acid based dermal fillers such as Restylane, Juvederm and Perlane.  Once injected, the Vitrase will cause the Juvederm to dissolve and you should be back to looking the way you were previously.

The bad news is it sounds like you found an injector that was not very experienced with this procedure.  It looks like he injected "over the muscle" which is a recipe for pouches and bags of product under the eye.

Pillows Under Eyes After Juvederm, What are My Options for Fixing this? (photo)

I have had Juvederm injected under my eyes 6 days ago to fill in the hollowness. Approx. 5 hours after the injection I saw visible pillows (half moon shape) appearing in the injected area. The pillows have not subsided. I does seem though that in the morning the pillows appear more puffy than in the evening. Should I wait before having Hyl. injection to dissolve the Juvederm? It was not cheap to have this done! I have attached picture before and after treatment. Please help!

A: Juvederm in the tear troughs

As other panel members have stated, it is best to wait about two weeks after your injections before making any decisions.  The vitrase can be used at that time to dissolve your product if you desire. I agree with other panel members as well that Restylane is typically the bewst choice for this area.

How Long After Juvederm Does it Take for Swelling to Go Down?

Hi, I had juvederm to my lips and one wrinkle on my frown line between my eyes which wasn't very deep. I had slight swelling on my forehead like an oval pad. My nurse said it could take a week or so to go down. After 3 weeks I became a litle anxious and I rubbed it slightly and it seems to have aggravated it. Under a certain light you can see the area is slightly raised. I want to get rid of it but don't want anything else done, is there anything I can do to speed up the removal of it. Thanks

A: Swelling after Juvederm

Swelling will typically be gone after a few days.  It sounds as if you might have a bit too much product in the area.  You can use the Vitrase to quickly dissolve the Juvederm.  I recommend following up with your injector and letting her know about your concerns.
