had implants replaced in July 2011, with Allergan, had complications with right implant had to be removed. Now ready for new implant and doctor wants to put in a Mentor inmplant. Will there be a big noticeable difference.....
I agree with the other surgeons. I see no reason to have separate implants in each side. For one thing, the warranties will be different in that case. If you choose to move to Mentor, I would replace both with Mentor. You should discuss this with your surgeon as to why he is choosing this approach. Some surgeons only use one of these companies.
Overall, you probably will not see a huge difference if he chooses a similar implant. The bigger problem is the warranty situation.
I am a 28 YO female 5'7'' & 155lbs. I have broad shoulders, wide hips, & an approx. 38'' band size w/ very little breast tissue - maybe an A cup breast. I'm having a BA on Tuesday and am debating over 425cc vs 450cc silicone gel implants. I realize the difference in volume is a matter of maybe an ounce per breast. Will this make a significant visible difference? I'd like to avoid going so big that I'd look heavy.
I would not believe there would be a very noticeable difference in the two implants. The biggest decision for your surgeon will be the profile of the implant (moderate, mod plus, etc). In general, most patients prefer the higher end of the breast implant sizes. I would go over this again with your surgeon so that you feel comfortable with the entire process.
Dr. Says not necessary, but 4 weeks after surgery having pain (no other symptoms) . Contraindicated to do light massage? Still lots of numbness.
Depending on why the alloderm was placed, I generally do not recommend early or aggressive massage. Typically this is used in either breast reconstruction or revision augmentation for a specific reason ... to keep the implants in place the alloderm needs to integrate into your tissue. Massage could dislodge the graft and result in the implants moving. However, if you are having pain and firmness this could be an early sign of capsular contracture. Visit with your surgeon and I'm sure he will address your issues accordingly.
