What are The Benefits to Using Botox at a Younger Age?

Are there studies that show Botox will prevent deep wrinkles if patients start using it sooner?

A: Botox can prevent wrinkles

By using Botox earlier in life, you may actually keep lines from forming.  Creases become etched in our skin over time as we make the same expressions.  If you get Botox, you can reduce muscle movement in wrinkle-prone areas before the deep lines appear.

Tear Trough Deepened with Botox, is this Normal?

I have had botox twice, both with the same doctor. I loved the results except that my tear trough seemed to deepen and extend down my cheek a little more, on both eyes, giving me a tired look. He did inject a little below parallel to my eye, as my crow's feet under my eye are pronounced. I want to return to him, but should I ask him not to inject under the eye area? I am 57.

A: Botox® does not actually cause volume loss.

Botox® doesn't actually cause volume loss, but sometimes correcting one area makes other concerns more noticeable.  I would suggest  you continue to work with your provider to achieve the results you want.  Loss of volume in the tear trough area can be greatly improved in many cases with a filler.

Bruising After Botox, Is this Normal?

I had Botox injected saturday afternoon. Sunday morning I woke up with a red dot in the middle of my forehead and a few by my hair line. I have read that brusing is normal sometimes. The first time I had this done I had nothing. Its Monday night now and the dot has not gotten any better. is this just a broken blood vessel and how long w/it last? Besides that the botox so far looks good.

A: Bruising not too common with Botox®.

In most cases, Botox® treatment does not lead to bruising because superficial blood vessels can usually be avoided.  However, sometimes an invisible blood vessel is traumatized leading to bruising.  Bruising is more likely if you are taking aspirin, coumadin or another blood thinner.
