“It Will Be Worth It....-Phoenix, AZ”
This is day 2 of wearing the trays. My mouth is miserable and teeth are so tender. I'm having a hard time eating, even if I wanted to take the trays out I couldn't because of the "buttons". I think the Dentist puts so many on your teeth so you don't want to take the trays out. The trays are rubbing sore all over my mouth, read to file down but that didn't really help. Any other suggestions? I... more
I did invisalign in 2008. I was in my mid thirties and always hated my teeth. Growing up there were 4 of us that all needed braces, but not enough money to go around. Since I had the best teeth in the bunch, I didn't get them. I have always been self conscience of my teeth. I had two really prominent front teeth with laterals that were short, so I looked like I had bunny teeth. In... more
“New to Invisalign After Braces -...”
I'd had metal braces as a kid, but it was a horrible experience and my orthodontist didn't give me any retainers, so of course my teeth moved around. I've always been self-conscious about my teeth, but I couldn't bare to be all metal mouth again, and when everyone had braces I was so happy to be the girl who didn't! (Oh the Irony! Im now the 18 year old girl straightening her teeth when... more
I am 49 yr old professional and couldn't imagine having metal braces at this stage in life. I put a lot of effort researching orthodontist in my area and the invisilign treatment. As it turns out I have an orthodontist who trains other orthodontist on the Invisilign product. This is my first experience with orthodontics, aside from 3 children going through traditional braces. Currently I am on... more
“NOT Worth It--get Regular Braces...”
I got Invisalign over 2 years ago to straighten both my upper and lower teeth(I am in my 30's and already had regular metal braces as a teen). To make a long story short, my top teeth were straight after 1.5 years of trays (keep in mind my teeth were pretty straight to begin with and only the front 4 really needed to be moved). My bottom teeth failed to straighten after over 2 years and a... more
“Just Started Treatment! - Phoenix, AZ”
First off, I want to apologize for such a long post, but I want to make sure I cover everything that I wanted to know before I started my treatment. My cost reflects a groupon deal, I know you all are probably thinking I am crazy for going with a provider that offers groupon rates. I was hesitant at first, but turns out this was the best purchase I have made! I made sure to read all the... more
“Hard to Remove - Phoenix, AZ”
Hard to remove from mouth. Dread mealtimes, takes me up to 3 minutes to remove them. Surely I must be doing something wrong, what is the secret? They are clear, don't hurt my mouth, but removal is difficult. Don't know that I made the right decision, but I am new at this, will give it more time Happy I didn't give up on my Invisalign treatment. Did make the right... more
“Overall---Invisalign Not Too Precise...”
Pros: Invisable and removable trays; easy to clean teeth/floss. Cons: Did not work too well for straightening teeth. I am 38 yrs old and a professional. I did not particularly want to have visible braces on my teeth in my line of work. The Orthodontist explained that he did have faith in the Invisalign product, but that the product (in his opinion) still could not quite fine-tune the... more
“Halfway Done with Treatment! So Far...”
Although my teeth weren't too bad, a perfect smile is something I always wanted. My dentist said I had "moderate crowding" and that my smile was literally "flat". My two front teeth always stuck out more, with a slight slant inward in the middle of them, and they slightly overlaped the two teeth next to them (right and left). My bottom teeth in the front were a little... more
Decided to straighten my teeth with Invisalign after a visit to Arizona School of Health Sciences, Orthodontics program. My wife attends the same school, different program, and I could get a discount-- so I bit the bullet. The cost without the discount would have been $4500. I also got an additional discount for paying cash in full up front so anyone considering the treatment should any ask... more
“Invisalign: Turning into a Great...”
I have just completed my first 2 weeks of Invisalign and still have one more week with my first set of aligners. They are not covered under my insurance but I was adamant about getting them over traditional braces.I have to admit, my first week of Invisalign, I hated them! The first three days were very painful so plan on eating soft food. But this only assured me that they were working.... more
“Invisalign Was a Waste of Time & Money”
Initially I was happy with my treatment. But after 2 and a half years, I didn't get the results that Invisalign and my dentist promised. The treatment was supposed to take about 9 months. In hindsight, I blame my dentist for 80% of the failed treatment, 10% on Invisalign, and 10% on a stubborn K9 tooth that just wouldn't budge. But I'm sure if my ex-dentist would have let the... more
Everyone's experience is going to be different. Here is what I think.. If you wore braces as a kid, then I think that you will have better results and be a whole lot happier with the invisalign than those that didn't wear braces.. The reason is that your jaw has already been moved, your teeth are set in place and probably don't need that much movement. Also, I think closing gaps is easier... more
I'm on my second set and it's getting much easier than with the first set. The first two weeks was a HUGE adjustment for me. I've worn braces as a teenager and I found that the invisalign are truly invisable. My mouth has adjusted to the trays and I don't find it a hassle. It's really made oral hygiene a top priority for me. I only have to wear them for a year and I don't have any complaints... more
