hello.around 2 weeks ago i had gynecomastia surgery in the uk, it was done under the national health service.before the surgery the surgoen marked me up and told me he would make a small incision under both nipples to remove the tumours.however after the bandages were removed it seems like he has cut all around my nipples and all across the chest.the chest looks worse than it was.is there anything that can be done, i dont know what to do, i feel more depressed now than ever. please advise.
Make sure you are doing everything you can to help the healing process like massaging the scars with vitamin E, fish oil, coco butter and any other scar ointment available. Its always good to mix up the creams and massage at leats 3 to 4 times per day. Another technique is to use silicone gel sheeting. You can obtain this over the internet. After 9 months, if the scar still does not make you happy, then go see a private plastic surgeon for a possible revision. It will get better.
All the best,
Dr. Sean Lille
Due to weight loss I had Abdominoplasty/Gynecomastia surgery back in May 2011 from board certified doctor. Before surgery my doctor said he would make my stomach and chest flat. It has been 6-7 months post-op as you can see my results were fairly poor.I still continue to wear my compression garment at night if I do not my stomach looks more bloated. As I really want reconstruct these areas,is it possible to get these results?
You need to really contact your surgeon (was it a board certified Plastic surgeon?) and discuss you concerns. He/she can review your situation and progress and hopefully clarify and satisfy these issues. Revisions can be performed provided that they make sense and will predictably provide a noticeable improvement. This is not necessarily clear in your situation.
I had gynecomastia surgery 3 weeks ago. Chest looks good relaxed, but my nipples and surrounding skin appear to be stuck to the underlying muscle when I raise my arms or flex my chest. What is the cost to fix this? Should my original doctor cover this procedure?
Hello,
This may resolve with more time. Several months should be given and evaluated to follow the process. If it does not fat grafting can be performed.
All the best,
Dr Repta
