A: Radiesse for Nasal Augmentation, Rib graft, Gore-Tex

I have personally used all of the material you are mentioning for nasal augmentation. I agree that the rib harvest is a more demanding surgery and recovery. I see no long term problems with the conservative (although off-lable) use of Radiesse for raising the nasal bridge with virtually no down-time. Best Regards, Dr. Todd Hobgood

What Can I Do About Radiesse Lumps?

I had Radiesse done around my nasal folds and corners of my mouth area, and now I have 1 large bump on the inside of the left corner of my mouth. When I open it you can see white, and when I smile, in the crack at the corner you see a large bump. It makes my smile funny looking, and my teeth hit it when I eat. Is there anything I can do?????

Please help...

A: Radiesse Lumps Can Be Massaged to Soften the Result

Radiesse is a fantastic material.  I have been using this product since 2003 and injected over 50 syringes last month.  Having said that, it is a thicker filler and is generally placed into the deeper subcutaneous tissues (fat planes).  Once in place, it cannot be dissolved like the hyaluronic acid products.

I have recommended that patients who experience a lump after radiesse apply heat with warm compresses and use bimanual massage to move and contour the area.  This actually works.  Good luck!  Be sure to stay in touch with your surgeon.  Stay Healthy!

Is Radiesse Good for Lip Augmentation?

A lot of people talk about how good and are for lip augmentation, but I want something more permanent.  Is it safe/effective to get lip injections of Radiesse?

A: Radiesse is a great product but should not be used for lip augmentation.

The risk of nodule formation is too great to justify injecting Radiesse in the lips. This risk is much lower with the hyaluronic acid fillers such as Restylane, Perlane, Juvederm, and Prevelle.
